Probable matchups:
Wgt | Ki-Be | Connell |
103 | Brandon Ashley | Edgar Mendez |
112 | Ryan Corke | Dago Velasquez |
119 | Sergio Avila | Jose Mendez |
125 | Ryan Burns | Taylor Jenks |
130 | Justin Mack | Ricardo Vergera |
135 | Jose Gonzalez | Brad Prather |
140 | Tony Chapin | David Rae |
145 | Josh Corke | Mizael Mendoza |
152 | Barry Leavitt | Tony Lee |
160 | Sean McCullough | Juventino Orozco |
171 | Kyle Nickerson | Brian Freeman |
189 | Josh Corriell | Josh Tamsen |
215 | Cody Roos | Armando Morfin |
275 | Kevin Hunter | Doug Dearborn |
This is the lineup used by Connell in their win over Ephrata, but they will probably juggle it in order to have the best matchups for them to win. Jimmy Orozco should fit into the picture here somewhere. Also missing from this lineup is Brian Prather.
While Avila vs. Mendez looks like it would be a good match, Mendez will probably be moved down to face Ryan Corke. Connell may want to have Tony Lee or even Juventino Orozco, if he is able to get down to 145, wrestle Josh Corke. Most likely Freeman or Jimmy Orozco will wrestle Josh Corriell.
This could be a very close match if the younger wrestlers, Ashley, Gonzalez and Chapin can win their matches. Corke and Corriell may get a stiff challenge depending on who is put against them. Connell will be a tough team to beat this year because of their depth and the ability to move wrestlers around to get the matchups they want. It should be a very entertaining and strategy filled match.
