The Bears will be sending Junior Gonzalez and Ross McDorman to state next weekend. Things got pretty tough for the Bears in the consolation round as all 6 wrestlers in contention for a state birth lost their matches. Junior and Ross both should do very well at state and bring home medals.

112 - Brandon Ashley recorded 2 pins on his way to a 5th place finish. Despite separating his shoulder late in the season, Brandon gave it his best effort in the post-season. He finishes the season with a 21-7 record.

119 - Ryan Corke nearly made it on to state, narrowly losing to Edgar Mendez for the spot. Ryan had an exciting first round match with Ricky Brown, losing by 1 point. Ryan finishes his senior year 20-15. Many CWAC opponents will have nightmares about Ryan's pain causing leg ride. Ryan will be missed on the team next year.

130 - Jerry Haug wrestled in a tough 130 weight class and placed 6th. His lone win was a tough 7-6 win over Chris Stewart of Quincy. Jerry continued to improve this year and will be better for this experience next year.

135 - Ryan Burns could never get it going against Regional champ Tommie Lindquist and then was ousted by Jess Leon of Toppenish. Ryan could take that next step to state next season.

140 - Junior Gonzalez just looks unbeatable, at least in the CWAC. State will provide new challenges for Junior. I wouldn't be surprised to see him challenging for a state title. He is currently 33-0 and always wrestles smart and in control. Could he become the 6th state champ for Ki-Be? If the rest of the state doesn't know about Junior, they will find out about him at state.

145 - Tony Chapin recorded 2 pins and placed 5th. His season record is 24-8 with 16 pins. Tony should be a top contender for state and a medal as next year arrives. The mat experience that Tony got this year will be invaluable to him next season.

160 - Ryan Phipps nearly pulled out an upset victory in the first round as he had Josh Cate on his back. Ryan then pinned his opponent in the consolation round before losing to Cate's teammate, Dean Agee of Omak. Ryan showed great improvement this year and should do even better next year.

171 - Justin Rolland started the tournament in grand style with a pin in the first round, his 16th of the year. Rolland was tech'd by eventual champ Jake Walter and never recovered. Justin had a great season and finishes with record of 25-9. He will be missed on the team next year. His ability to pin any opponent he wrestled made him an exciting wrestler to watch.

275 - Ross McDorman did exactly what he was supposed to do. Dominate the first couple of wrestlers and then take his chances against Byl in the finals. Though Byl proved to be too much for him, Ross should do very well at next weeks state tournament. He has already staked a claim as one of the best heavy weight wrestlers in Ki-Be history. He should finish it all off with a state medal.
