Kiona-Benton vs Connell
Connell has dominated the Bears over the years. The eagles have won 21 of the 26 matches between the two teams. The Bears did manage to win three consecutive duals from 1998 to 2000, but the Eagles came back to win the next three. This year the Bears could record their 6th win against the Eagles if all goes well. Connell has some tough wrestlers in the lower weights with Zuniga (103), Cerna (112) and Mendez (119). The best matchup in these weights could be Brandon Ashley vs Tallon Cerna. Corke, Haug and Burns will need to beat their opponents if the Bears want to end their three match losing streak. Each is capable doing so against their Eagle counterpart. Junior Gonzalez should take care of business at 140. Chapin will have his hands full with Rae, but he has the potential to pull off an upset. In the heavier weights, look for Rolland and Lee to put on a show. Phipps and McDorman should add to the win total for the Bears.
Connell does have some formidable opponents, but this year the Bears have the advantage with 11 ranked wrestlers to the Eagles 6. It should be a good match with the Bears gaining the victory, if all goes well.
