Ki-Be 47 Connell 15

This was the biggest winning margin for any Ki-Be wrestling team over Connell in the history of the school. The previous biggest margin was a 39-20 win in 2002.

The best match of the night was between Chris Howell and Alex Gonzalez.  After falling into an early hole trailing 6-2, Howell scored a reverse to close the gap to 6-4.  After being given 1 point to start the 3rd, Howell recorded his first takedown of Gonzalez to go ahead 7-6.  Gonzalez tied the score with and escape, but with 10 seconds left Howell scored his second takedown to win 9-7.

Clay Wilcox found himself in somewhat of the same predicament in the next match, trailing 4-5 after 1 round.  From that point on it was total domination of his opponent as he scored 7 unanswered points to win 11-5.

John Kortz wrestled extremely well against Hernan Serra who placed 5th at state last year.  Kortz was not able to do much offensively but he did hold Serra to only 4 points.
