WORK HISTORY
Radio Uganda, Ministry of Information/Department of Information, Office of the President
8th August 1972 I joined as Technical Assistant Grade II in the Engineering Department and worked as a studio operator. The duties included recording programmes for broadcast and playing back recordings and live and outside broadcast programmes in the on-air studios
1975 I was promoted to Technical Assistant Grade I and was given duties in the Central Control Room for one year. The duties here included monitoring and quality control of the broadcast programmes, facilitating outside broadcasts.
1976 I joined the Central Maintenance Unit as a Service and Maintenance Technician. The duties included servicing, maintenance and repair of studio equipment which included mixing consoles, tape and cassette-recorders and disc players.
1977 I was promoted to the rank of Senior Technician.
1981 I was promoted to the rank of Principal Technician and was appointed to be in Charge of the Central Maintenance Unit. The main duties were supervision of more than six service technicians and giving assignments.
1990 I supervised the installation of 10 audio studios and Central Control Room under the First Health Project. The work involved redesigning and replacement of equipment in the studios and central control room.
Mid 1994 I was given acting responsibility as Principal Technician in charge of Sound Operations.
August 2003 Took responsibility for the office of Principle Engineer Radio.

PROFESSIONAL TRAINING
1974 - 1976 I sat and passed City and Guilds Telecommunications Technician Courses "A", "B" and "C" covering Radio and line transmission, Principles of Radio and Mathematics.
1st October 1979 - 19th December 1980 I was on overseas training at the Deutsche Welle Training Centre in Cologne, Germany where I did Studio Operations and Maintenance.

Basics of
electronics, semi-conductors and valves.
Audio amplifier circuits,
circuit analysis, magnetic sound recording, studio- and portable tape
recorders, measuring equipment and methods, integrated circuits,

4th February 1985 - 30th March 1985 I went back to Deutsche Welle for a three month refresher course. Course content:

Measuring techniques, microprocessors and personal computers, digital signal processing, satellite communications, and digital studio equipment and measuring techniques.
17th February 1997 - 21st February 1997 “Introduction to Modern Broadcasting Systems” Deutsche Welle training at Radio Uganda
20th June - 8th July 2005 “Troubleshooting on Networked Digital Audio Applications” Deutsche Welle Radio Training Centre, Bonn Germany. Topics covered included:
PC technologies, networking, server technologies, and introduction to troubleshooting tools in digital audio systems.
OTHER PROFESSIONAL ACTIVITIES
I have been involved in the following professional activities:
December 1994 Designed the studios of Capital Radio in Kampala, Uganda and did the equipment installation.
1996 Designed and supervised the construction of a studio for Radio Maria Station in Mbarara, Uganda
June 1996 Designed and installed two studios for Central Broadcasting Service, Bulange – Kampala, Uganda
October 1996 Installed the Voice of Tooro studio in Fort Portal, Uganda
March 1997 Installed a sound studio for the Social Communications Department of the Uganda Episcopal Conference at Nsambya, Uganda
1998 Designed and installed On Air studio for Top Radio in Kampala, Uganda
September 1999, Supervised the construction of Production studio for Uganda Media Women’s Association in Kisaasi, Uganda
January 2000 Installed On Air studio for Voice of Kigezi in Kabale, Uganda.
December 2000 Installed Monitor FM Studios in Kampala
February 2001, Designed and installed Radio Sapientia On Air Studio in Kampala.
COMMUNITY SERVICE
I was RC1 Chairman from 1986 to 1990 of Village 13 (Information Flats), Ntinda Parish Nakawa Division.
Vice President of Catholic Association of Broadcasters and Cinematographers of Uganda.
Choir Director in St. Lwanga Catholic Sub-parish, Ntinda.
I have been a Councillor of Nagulu Catholic Parish for 5 years.
Secretary of the Kampala Archdiocesan Music Committee.
Secretary of the Kampala Ecclesiastical Province Communicators' Organisation.
