Thomas E. Cook

Entered Into Eternal Rest

DEXTER- Thomas Edward Cook, 93, a retired farmer, died at ll:30 p.m. Tuesday in Dexter Convalescent Manor.  Born Feb. 5, 1882 at Ava, Ill., he was a member of the Assembly of God Church.  On May 22, 1912, he married Neda Brookman who survives.  Other survivors include one son, Thomas E. Cook Jr. of Imperial; four daugthers, Zelma Jennings, of St. Louis, Wanda Street of Bloomfield, Thyra Kinder of Perkins and Flora Stacy of Arnold; and 12 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren and four great-great grandchildren.

Services are scheduled at 1 p.m. Friday in Rainey Funeral Home with the Revs. Clarence Morrison of St. Louis and Frank Heitman of Dexter officiating.  Burial will be in the Morley Cemetery.

Neda A. Cook

Saturday, Nov., 3, 1979

DEXTER- Neda A. Cook, 88 of Route 2, Dexter, died at 8:55 a.m. Saturday at the Sikeston Hospital.  Mrs. Cook is a longtime resident of Stoddard County.  She was born in Pawnee, OKla., on Jan. 30, 1891.  She married Thomas E. Cook on May 22, 1912, in Morley.  He died Feb. 18, 1975.  She was a member of the First Assembly of God Church in Dexter.  Survivors are a son, Thomas E. Cook, Jr., of Imperial; four daughters, Zelma Jennings of St. Louis, Wanda Street of Bloomfield, Thyra Kinder of Perkins and Flora Stacy of DeSoto; 12 grand-children; 24 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.

The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at the Rainey Funeral Chapel.  The Rev. C. L. Morrison of St. Louis will officiate and burial will be in the Morley City Cemetery.

Benjamin David Cook - 1884 - 1963

Benjamin David Cook was born Feb. 6, 1884 in Johnson County, Missouri, passed away January 31, 1963 in Cape Girardeau, Mo., at the age of 78 years, 11 months and 25 days.  He was the son of the late Heartly J. and Sarah Williams Cook.

Mr. Cook was united in marriage in 1907 to Annie Bodenschatz, who preceded him in death, to this union 9 children were born, 3 sons preceded him in death, 1 son Junior losing his life in WWII, the following survive; Roy Cook, St.Louis, Mo., Mrs. Bob Thompson, St. Louis, Mo., Mrs. Charles Boyer, Elisinore, Mo., Mrs. Wilburn Bruce, Advance,Mo., Mrs. Clarence Hicks, Painton, Mo., and Mrs. Cletus Simmons, East Moline, Illinois.

On May 14, 1954, Mr. Cook was united in marriage to Fredia Pettit who survives, to this union one daughter was born, Betty Jo Cook at home.

Mr. Cook also leaves to mourn his passing 6 step-children; Mrs. James Phegley, Flint, Michigan, Arlin Pettit, Allenville, Mo., Jerry Pettit, Flint, Michigan, Shelby Pettit, Kansas City, Mo., Ray Pettit, U.S. Army in California, and Donnie Pettit, Orlens, France, 1 brother Ed Cook, Dexter, Mo.; 21 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.

Mr. Cook was a member of the Mesler Missionary Baptist Church, joining in 1955.
