Welcome to my King Of Fighters 99 section of this site. All news is pretty brief and sparse because King Of Fighters 99: Millennium battle is a pretty new game in the arcade and not much English-translated information has been given. As usual, the English speaking countries are the LAST to find out about KoF and it's moves and such. Being a Japanese game and all, I guess that's fair. Anyway, back on to KoF 99. Being released, as always, in the middle of each year (Japanese Summer, Australian Winter) it surprised many with it's release. Rumours were rife that Kyo and Iori were missing, the two most popular characters, and the game's main storyline characters too. But to everyone's shock, not only did Kyo appear in KoF, he appeared twice! Yes, two clone versions of Kyo were made and entered into KoF. The new Striker system surprised many and will be one of the more challenging aspects to master. Two MAX modes were brought in, Counter mode and Armour mode. Everything about KoF 99 was different. Well so it should be. KoF 98 was a shonky non-story based scrap that just relived old memories and didn't help continuity in the storyline. Well us REAL KoF fans have eagerly awaited the continuing story line that will be sure to please the fans.
The story revolves around the mysterious K', a super fighter that only recently, and strangely, appeared on the fighting scene. Who is this K'?

UPDATE
Unforntunately it has been CONFRIMED that there are no more secret characters
except Shin Kyo and Iori Yagami.
ARCADE STORY
Krizalid is now revealed to be in fact a clone of K' not the other way around. This is revealed through the ending sequence of the Ikari Assassins team. Whip stays behind and Krizalid calls her "sister". She then asks him why he did not leave the Nezs organisation as she had done. When he replies, she reveals that he cannot even remember his father and proves he is a clone. Krizalid is insane. Whip then returns to the Ikari assassins and quietly begins to cry.
Well well, K' is the original eh? Interesting. Can't wait til King of Fighters 2000.
------------------Storyline Progress--------------------------
As with all KoF games, the manga comic of the game sure as hell fills in the apparent blanks that the game creates. Without any official data as yet delving more into K' and Krizalid, the fans have relied on this manga to update the story more and find out about the mysterious K' and Kyo and Iori's connection with this year's KoF.
[These descriptions are from Pao Pao's Cafe, I've just tweaked the English a little]
SUMMARY
Mysterious fighter K' appears in Japan seeking out the participants of KoF 97. He methodically traces every fighter that fought against and were injured by and insane Riot of Blood Iori Yagami. He challenges them to battles, K' easily defeating every single fighter. He tracks down Terry Bogard and the rest of the Lone Wolves (Andy Bogard and Joe Higashi)and decimates them, leaving them badly injured. He faces Ryo Sakazaki, a man terribly wounded by Iori in KoF97. He challenges the recovered Ryo but again defeats Ryo, crippling him. With the second and third placed teams out of commission, K' continues to track down the remaining fighters and challenge them. Shingo Yabuki, Kyo's student, was attacked and also injured by K'. But recovering rapidly, Shingo senses a strange aura within himself. The blow that K' delivered, a single gut punch (the same to all other defeated fighters) has somehow changed him. He tests this new power against Goro Daimon, Japan's retired Judo champion. Shingo floors Goro the instant he delivers his blow. Amazed, Shingo seeks more about this power. He consults a concerned Benimaru, who mysteriously received an invitation to a KoF, the Millennium Battle
As K' returns to headquarters, he reveals himself as an android clone. He reports his data to his leader, Krizalid. Pleased with the results, Krizalid moves to invite these fighters back into KoF99: Millennium Battle. While resting, K' is woken by Krizalid to challenge his new breed of fighter, Maxima. He releases 100 prototype clones upon K'. Nonchalantly, K' disposes of the first 99 clones with ease. But as the remaining clone stood before him, K' moved to deliver his devastating blow, but suddenly, calculating K's movements, Maxima gripped K's hand and ripped it clean off. K', shocked and stunned, turns to Krizalid. Chuckling, the evil Krizalid announces "We are ready".
