is a unique Canadian city that is situated on the Alberta/Saskatchewan border, and offers
excellent recreational, leisure and cultural facilities for both the young and the young

also the Barr Colony Heritage Cultural Centre. |

On April 17th 1903, the first colonists camped at a site two miles north
of the city on Hwy 17. The "Barrs" were a group of people who were assembled by
Reverend I.M.Barr to form an English colony. During the sea passage to Canada the people
became discontented with Reverend Barrs leader ship and turned to Reverend George E. Lloyd
for help. |
