Kodomo No Omocha is an extremely wacky and fun shoujo manga/anime created by Miho Obana.  The anime has 102 episodes, unfortunately only episode 1-24 have been fansubbed by Geofront and Kodocha.  The manga ended  with the total of ten volumes.

The series centered on the two main characters, Kurata Sana and Hayama Akito.  Kodomo No Omocha follows the life of two kids, Kurata Sana and Hayama Akito.  It's almost like a soap opera made for kids.  Throughout the course of ten volumes and 102 eps, we get to see how Sana and Hayama started out as enemy, then friend, and finally become lover.  Some of you might have heard the expression “Marmalade Boy on Acid” used on Kodomo No Omocha.  I personally don’t think so.  While the two main characters might have similarities in appearance, most noticeably their hair colors, but here is where it ends.  However, I definitely agree Kodocha is on some kind of drugs.

Sana Kurata, the main character, is an over-active, energetic, wacky, and sometimes dumb (not ditzy), 11 years old girl.  Try to read the subtitles with her talking and you’ll know what I’m talking about.  She is an actress on a show called Kodomo No Omocha (Child’s Toy) and go to school at the same time.

The series started off with Sana waking up late one day  (it seems like everyday) for school.  Here we have a glimpse of how insanely dysfunctional (which is definitely not a bad thing in her case) her life at home is.  Her day at school was no different.  We meet the 11 years old Hayama Akito, the monkey boss (name given by Sana), who is destined to be Sana’s arch rival.  While Sana wants to learn in class, Hayama disrupted the class in every possible way he can.  Of course, not without the help from his monkey followers.  Hayama Akito is completely opposite of Sana.  Cool, calm, collective, smart, sinister, and a delinquent.  Sana, who is fed up with Hayama’s behavior, declared a war against him.  The war goes on in an extremely funny fashions with Sana as the final victor at the end.  From then on, the relationship between those two changed.

Kodomo No Omocha is definitely a must see for those who appreciates a good laugh and not annoyed by the fact it is a shoujo anime.  And for those who like dramatic scenes, I can tell you, Kodocha has them, too.
