Personal History Interviewing
This activity would be great for Mutual or Relief Society. A quick lesson is given on how to do an oral
interview, then participants pair up and interview each other for the remainder of the evening. Each person
has a tape and each pair has a tape recorder. At the end of the evening, everyone has a great start on
his/her own personal history, as well as learning how to conduct a personal history interview with someone
else. This was a Young Women activity when we did it. I took the tapes home and made a "Young
Women Personal Histories" booklet for all the young women. I think the more you know about someone,
the easier it is to love them! Another idea is to just have the youth fill out their "Favorite Things" as part of
a getting to know you night. (The favorites are listed at the bottom of the linked page).
