I have to say, I don't really play video games much these days, through lack of time, money, enthusiasm and skill. ^_^. But I have played computer and video games for most of my life and still enjoy the odd game.
These days I'm behind the times - I can't keep up with all these expensive systems. I've got a Nintendo 64, Game Boy Advance and - best of all ^_^. - a Sega Mega Drive (Genesis in the US).
Here's what I have written about video games.
A comprehensive review/summary/explanation of Toe Jam & Earl for Mega Drive, one of the best video games in history.
My rant on why modern games suck (the answer is: largely 'cos I'm bad at them ^_^.).
And then there are a number of reviews for Mega Drive games.
Bubsy I and II,
a few Disney platformers (World of Illusion, Aladdin, Jungle Book, Lion King),
the Micro Machines games,
some miscellaneous platformers (Jurassic Park, Hook and Alex Kidd)
and other games (at the moment, Toe Jam & Earl, Virtual Bart and Columns).
Finally some opinions/summaries of ancient C64 (Commodore 64) games.
Misc games (Green Beret, Mario, Sortie, Winnie the Pooh, Paperboy)
Park Patrol (not very serious)
Donald Duck's Playground (also not entirely serious)
Barbie (in deadly earnest)
Swiss Family Robinson (includes tips)
Mickey's Space Adventures (includes tips)
Note: if you too want to play C64 games yourself... try doing a search for Wolfgang Lorenz's PC64 (this is the first emulator that I, personally, have been able to make work). C64.com is a good place to download games, but if there are specific games you want that aren't there, you can do a google search and find most of them easily, eg "c64 swiss family download" or whatever. Once downloaded, if you drag the relevent .d64 file onto the PC64W31 icon it will play.
(Tips re. this emulator. Games played with the joystick have ctrl as the fire button and the number pad arrows as directions. If you are playing a game with more than one disk and have to swap disks, press F9 and choose the file. In Mickey's Space Adventure, to save the game you need a save game disk; just make a copy of some other game and rename it, and you can save onto that file.)
