What Pokemon do you find most difficult to find/catch/acquire?
Okay, this may sound really pathetic, but I have a hard time catching Weedles ^_^;; I don't know why...they're mucho more powerful than Caterpie. In yellow version, everything is just fine...excluding I can't catch Meowth, and I want one! ^_^ But, I find it fairly simple to catch the legendary birds with ultra/great balls. I think Snorlax is harder to catch than the birds. Mewtwo is master ball, so done with that. So call me stupid. -Sailor
I think the most difficult pokémon to find is Magmar. I've been walking around Pokémon Mansion for an hour searching for it. The hardest pokémon to catch is Mewtwo, I didn't want him to kill him or him kill my pokémon first. The most difficult pokémon to acquire, I really not sure about that. -Krystle
I find Mewtwo most difficult to catch/aquire!!!!! just kidding. I've caught it with an ultra ball. I hate trying to catch Snorlax, though. I only bother because of my PokéDex -Arbok
That damn Chansey in safari zone is hard a lot.I got more trouble catching a Snorlax than catching Mewtwo(Snorlax take me at least 20 tries when Mewtwo got caught at 10th.)And,it is only at LEVEL 30! -Paras13
The pokemon I find most difficult to aquire are probably Snorelax and the level 3 Jigglypuffs near mount-moon. The reason they are so hard to catch is becouse your pokemon would be pretty strong by the time you get there, so you would need some weak pokemon and the stupid things keep doing sing (grrrr) -Cyclone49
The absolute hardest Pokemon to get is my fave - Porygon. I have the red version and yellow, which makes it even harder. My friend does have blue, but her brother started it over and is playing through. So on my red and yellow games, to get Porygon, I would have to win at the slot machines or beat the **** out of the Elite Four too many times. Considering I have no luck whatsoever when it comes to slots, I have to beat the Elite Four to get enough money. And I figured out that in order to buy the coins, I would need 210,000 dollars or yen or whatever Pokemon uses. On blue I think you need about 160,000. I love Pory and all, but that's *way* too much money. And it's very time consuming, even if you're Pokemon are all at high enough levels to beat up the "Elite" Pokemon with one hit. Especially if you happen to be broke at the time because you blew it all trying to win at those slots. -Sailor P-chan
Snorlax. Uggh! I hate that lump of lard! You put it to sleep, it wakes up. It uses rest, it wakes up. Obviously, its reputation is not justified... it's impossible to take its HP down and KEEP it down, without killing it, because it keeps resting, and waking up JUST when you've weakened it again... I'm sure some people find it a skate to catch, but I am not among them. 10 Pokeballs, 5 Greatballs, 3 Ultraballs... *walks off muttering angrily* -Leto
Show Who is your favourite character-of-the-day and why? (By character-of-the-day, I mean ones that only appear once or twice, like Seymour, Dario, Mandy, Daisy, etc.)
Surprisingly, I really like Flint. I like his voice, and he looks sooo cool! ^_^ I also like Lily (Waterflower) I think she's the best trainer of the waterflowers (Excluding MIsty)..hehehehe. My favorite, though, is probably Jessibell. Her voice is sooo cool and I love her! She's awesome! ^_^;; -Sailor
I really liked Otoshi from "Bad To The Bone", he was pretty cool. And Otoshi is way better name than Guardia. And for once, America named a person with a good name. Unlike, how they changed Hiroshi to Richie. -Krystle
I dunno, I like Melanie. I like the guy with the PokéFlute... -Arbok
Butch. He is so cute!Second place goes to Lara Laramie and third is Duplica. -Paras13
Wow, that's a really good question to ask! At least for me. My favorite minor pokémon character of all time is Duplica! I aboloutly adore her. She's been my fav, from the first time I saw Dittos mysterious mansion. I always wished she would have joined Ash and the others... I like her so much, cause she's just like me! I like to imitate anything and everything. When I'm around a person long enough, I imitate the way they speak! I can't help it. I like how she made fun of team rockets speach "to ignite all peoples within our nation". She's also cute! I like how she does her hair(pigtails rule!). I also really like her Ditto. It's cute, and also has a great personality. I notice that when pokémon are allowed to roam freely, they have very ditinct personalities. Take Pikachu for example. What else is cool about her... I like the way she is very close to Ditto. She obviosly cares about him/her alot. I find there arn't many trainers that have such a close relationship with their pokémon. "Ashey boy" still does have alot to learn from the Great Ditto Master! -Majestic Arcanine
My fav. characture of the day would probably be Mikey. MAinly becouse Eevee is one of my fav. Pokemon! I also like Lt. Surge for the same reason (RAAAAAI-CHUUU!) My least favourite characture of the day is Seymore the Scientist becouse he always talkes in ryhmes and he thinks he's so smart when he is actully a stupid @$@##@! -Cyclone49
Florinda (she's so pretty, nice and realistic), Victor (just plain cool), Lara Laramie (love that voice, that style, that character), Atoshi (Marowak! Good taste! and he treats his Pokemon as a trainer should!)... oh, there are lots of good ones. Okay, I'll say anyone but Erika (*shudder*). ^_^. -Leto
Miscellaneous Which form of Pokemon is your favourite, out of the following: TV show, card game, red/blue/yellow, Pinball, comics, music, or other? Why?
I think the TCG really kinda sucks. I don't know why..it's a huge craze. I love the manga, cause Ash looks funky in it ^_^ Pinball is pretty cool, it's fun to play. Red/blue/yellow is really awesome. It's probably my fave next to the anime. The anime really interests me. It has such a neato plot (Neato is a great word, eh? ^_^) -Sailor
Okay, I have different favorites for different parts of Pokemon. I feel that the best carichiture (I can never spell that!) Is in the manga. The characters are more realistic looking than in the anime. I especially like the fact that the Pokemon look more menacing than in the anime. Pikachu looks like a mouse suitable for fighting instead of a pudgy, but cute, mouse. [dodges bricks and flames] My favorite game (so far) is Pinball. For some reason, I find it more addicting than R/B/Y! I am hoping for the day I save enough money for a N64 just so I can buy Pokemon 64, if and when it comes out. Oh, and on a side note, I find it interesting that at in the manga, Misty IS 12, but for some reasdon, she's hit puberty quite early o.O! And now Ifind that I'm rambling, so i'll stop. -S. Flamehair
TV show, or the RPG -Arbok
The T.V show and the Game boy game.TCG is too hard to understand, the C.D is just...well,l*me and Pinball in hard a lot. But,the french traduction in the T.V show just *****.Boulebasaur,Chiarmander and Squiartle.Team Rocket is...just sounding evil a lot, though.Brock's voice actor is just bad,Ash sounds too old and Misty is awful. And,little Arbok says Arbok? Not Charboka.Just awful. -Paras13
My fav. form of pokemon stuff is the game, becouse I really like training my pokemon and having link cable battles. -Cyclone49
Probably... umm... the TV show. By a hair. It just cracks me up. ^_^. -Leto
![]() When you're raising a team of Pokemon, do you go for sentimental value, or strength value? For example, would you stick to Pokemon like Butterfree, Eevee and Psyduck as opposed to a Mewtwo, Snorlax or Gyarados, if you liked them better?
When picking my teams, I judge by whether or not they could beat the Elite Four. Dragonite, Articuno, Mewtwo, etc., but if I could I'd have a team of Pokemon I love just cuz they're cute. Paras, Pikachu, Raticate, Spearow, Wartortle, and Bulbasaur! Oh, if only I could keep my Bulbasaur as it is without evolution! I would be the happiest person on Earth! *sigh* That's OK, I'm fine. WHAAAAAAAAA!!!! -Bulbasaur
Depends if my faves were strong Pokémon or not, where I am in the game, and what other Pokémon I have. If my faves are strong, I'd use them. If I was at Misty's and somehow had my faves, I'd probably use them if they weren't at really low levels. If I had Articuno or something and one of my faves was at a low level like 20, I'd use the Articuno. It depends if I even have my faves yet! It just depends. -Chareon Well, on this one I'd have to go with a mix of both. The ONLY rare pokemon I use is Zapdos, cause I only have like 2 other lighting pokemon on my blue version (Pikachu and uh...Pikachu? ^_^) and it's good. Otherwise, my blue version lineup is Zapdos, Dragonair (Only level 38...erg!) Kadabra, Butterfree, Flareon and Psyduck. Suprisingly, my Psyduck kicks major @$$ Now, my red version. I have a little bit better pokemon on this version and use only my Aerodactyl (Which isn't very rare if you think about it!) And I also have Butterfree (One of my fave pokemon!) Arbok (Gotta have him, he kicks!) Dewgong, Seadra and Gengar. Both my versions have weak and strong pokemon. My best pokemon overall on both versions (On my six pokemon list) are probably my Arbok, Psyduck and Butterfree. Sound weak? No way. Psyduck's at level 57 *smile* Oh yeah, I do have all the rare pokemon, but find no time for them. *smiles* -Gary Gal
Well, I don't often go for sentimental value, if you could call it that. My only exception is a Meowth I raised I call Mrowser (be quiet, it's not funny, and it's NOT Mr. Owser.). Usually, I go for Pokemon that become powerhouses with a few good TMs and evolution, aka bulbasaur, squirtle, Pidgey, Abra, Dratinini. If I like a Pokemon as much as Mrowser, then of course I'd go for sentimental. I like to win with powerful Pokemon, but also add a personal touch. Oh, I'm rambling, how unproffesional of me ^__^. -Liza
I like to usually have a mix, for instance I make sure I have a few of my favorite Pokemon (like Sandslash, Slowbro, Gloom... etc.) and some Pokemon that can hold their own in battles. Having a mix is always nice ;D -Toru
I have a high-level Pikachu, Wartortle and Staryu. Does that answer your question? :-) If I like a Pokemon's unevolved form better, I'm perfectly happy to keep it that way, knowing that it'll need to be trained to a higher level in order to stay competitive. I get much more satisfaction from beating the Elite Four with highly-trained "weak" Pokemon than I would from using a Mewtwo and winning with a Pokemon I just captured and haven't spent any time nurturing. So yes, I am a sentimental idiot. What's your point? :-) -Stephen
Well, naturally... ^_^. I go for sentimentality first, although I wouldn't go with a Pokemon I really liked it if was absolutely pathetic. (For example, if I were a Caterpie fan, I would give up my fandom for sake of the game. -_-;) Of my current team, NONE are top of their type (well, Kingler's pretty good) but that matters little. Arbok, Fearow, Primeape, Kingler, Pikachu and Magmar... I can win with them and win I will... Of course, that may be a little overly optimistic, given that I lost to the Elite Four about six times in a row... *groans* Of course, this COULD be attributed to the fact that my team's average level is around 45... nahh. -Leto
Show Which character voices do you find most talented/appropriate or disappointing/annoying?
Well, the voices aren't usually a big issue to me but most of the voices are pretty approipriate. Like Togepi's. Annoying. Like it (Togepi). Sabrina's voice was approipriate because it sounded haunting and really serious. Sorta evil too. That fits her (before she met Haunter). Some disappointing , not to mention stupid, voices were Seel and Dewgong's. They sound like old men! Enough said. The most annoying voice is Butch's. They should really get a different voice actor. Too late now. So scratchy and horrible. I just hate that voice! No other voice annoys me that bad. -Chareon
Well, when it comes to annoying, it's Togepi *shudders* That...THING is so freakin' digusting, it makes me want to puke. The voice is so annoying, it makes my ears bleed! EEEW! I also find Joy's voice annoying, except for the ones from the south. They're cool ^_^ Cool voices? GARY GARY GARY!!!! Oh, man, do I love this guy! He's got an awesome voice! (And I think he's cute too......) He sounds all bratty, but at the same time totally cool! Yeah! I also like Jessie's voice. How could you not? :) -Gary Gal
I think the best voices in the show are James and Officer Jenny. James is just hysterical in general, I love the S S Anne episode where he kept saying "CooOoOoL!"... I was litterally on the floor laughing uncontrolably. And Jenny... well I just love the way how she always yells. -Toru
James' camp voice suits him perfectly. Sometimes, the voice actor goes a bit over the top and makes him sound _too_ camp, but mostly it works fine. I actually preferred his original voice actor; I liked the sinister voice James had in the early episodes. However, the camp voice suits James much better. Of course, the award for "coolest Pokemon voice" goes to Staryu. "H'ya!" -Stephen
Voices. Well I think Brock is toatlly cool. Eric Stuart does a great job with Brock and James. Rachel Lillis does a good job with Misty and Jessie too, They both bring their charecters to life. Ash's voice..........Veronica Taylor.......Um.......way too high pitched. If you listen to old episodes Ash's voice sounds really deep at times. But now.......he sounds like ........well........a girl. lets face it, Veronica should have kept it as it was between episodes 20- 40; Not too high or low. Butch and Bill have the most annoying voices. Butch has an impossibly SCRATCHY and Bill sounds like he is gay, sorry but it's true. --- BanditRapidash
For main character voices, I like them all but James' voice has problems with sounding serious. Then, people in real life do too.... anyway, I do not like Gloom's voice much either. My favourites are maybe Misty's and Ash's... in Japanese version, Nyaasu or Musashi. -Leto
Misc What are your thoughts on whatever program/station brings YOU Pokemon?
I get YTV for Pokémon and I think YTV is great! They've had 3 Pokémanias showing 5 back to back eps. One time, two or three of the eps were new. They had Toon Typhoon showing 5 all-new eps. They're not skipping anything, they even respond to my emails! I can't think of anything bad concerning Pokémon, they don't even show repeats except really early in the morning so I don't have to see them! YTV's great for Pokémon. -Chareon
*Puts hands into fists* I hate Kids WB! They annoy me so much! ERG! They promise all these new episodes, and we get retarted reruns instead! If I were bigger, older, and more powerful, I'd make them shape up! Dear god, they are annoying! -Gary Gal
I have to say that I absolutely despise the station! I live in southern New Jersey, and we have Kids WB. I think lots of places do. I've been trying to record every episode of Pokemon. Because of them, I've missed quite a few. Or at least parts. This is why: 1) They not once tell you the times any show will be on, 2) my TV guide has been wrong every time, and 3) they don't say until 10 seconds before it starts whether it's a new episode or not. I saw ONE commercial saying a new episode will be on tomorrow. And during the week, the new episodes are seriously screwed. They've had new episodes on Mondays and Thursdays. Who does that?! If they DO do that, they at least tell you. And this past week it was on Monday and Friday. Now if I want to record anything, I have to make sure that the tape is completely set up the night before. I get home not long before it starts. And the same on Saturdays. I have no idea what times the episodes will be on in the morning. I think this is all a big conspiracy to break me. Pokemon itself is a conspiracy. They want to brainwash kids. But that has nothing to do with the subject... Anyway, in a few words, I completely hate Kids WB. Normal WB is fine, but I think someone should go blow up the executives or whoever at Kids WB. -Sailor P-chan
KIDS WB MUST DIE!!!! -Toru
The channel which airs Pokemon in the UK is Sky One. This channel is available only to cable, satellite or digital TV subscribers, so not everyone in the UK can receive it. It's a good channel in general; it shows a lot of the best imported American shows before they make it to the non-subscription networks. In addition to Pokemon, I am currently enjoying Star Trek: Deep Space Nine and Buffy the Vampire Slayer courtesy of Sky One. The programmes that Sky One commissions itself are poor in comparison to its bought-in output. Sky One's own programmes are generally only suitable for showing after 10:00PM, and tend to involve young men and young women in various states of undress. Enough said. -Stephen
Channel 10 (the station) is fine, I have no complaints with it except that I'm sick of three or four ad breaks for every show. As for Cheez TV - a cartoon program that includes Pokemon in its lineup - um... it's okay. I really wish they'd pronounce Pokemon right for once (why can I not believe their enthusiasm when they talk about how 'awesome pockymon is'? I mean, what is this, a monster or a stick of chocolate?) but they don't screw us over... If Pokemon's time is going to change - which it very rarely does - they announce it several times. They hold some competitions for Pokemon-related things. They've had 'Pokemon experts' (experts my @#*, even SHE couldn't pronounce Pokemon, I think they just slapped a Nintendo t-shirt on some lady off the street) to talk about the latest Pokenews... The only problem I have is that we never get repeats easily. What happens is, the series plays through in its entirety, on four mornings every week, and then Channel 10 did play Pokemon in prime time for a coupla weeks, but then replaced it with the Love Boat or something stupid like that. I'm babbling a bit, but oh well. The time is okay, 7:30am - which is actually most convenient for me, as I can whack on the VCR to record just before I leave for school. ^_^. Also, we got the old 'new episodes' (Problem with Paras ->) about three months before the USA did. Yay, we actually did something first. Australia doesn't have to worry about extra censorship or anything either. -Leto
