Gazing to the South of the Yangtze River 1

Li, Yu [ 李煜 ]   (937 A.D.-978 A.D.)

A peaceful dream brings me to the distant South. The southern kingdom is enjoying a fragrant Spring. The river is green. The boats bring the music of wind and stringed instruments. The floating willow seeds mingled with light dust fill the entire city. People are busy delighting in the beauty of flowers.

1 This poem describes how people enjoyed their lives in Spring during Last King Li's reign.
