As Drew Kirk continues to pine
for her ex-fiancee, Libby Kennedy, everyone in Ramsay Street hopes the pair will
manage to reconcile. Well, that is everyone but one resident. Stephanie Scully's attraction to Drew is becoming stronger and this fortnight she 
finally reveals her true feelings for Drew to a shocked Toadie. "Stephanie and
Drew spend a couple of fays together and she ends up falling more and more in
love with him," says Carla Bonner, who plays Stephanie. "Every minute she
spends with him makes her realize how much she cares about him. But because he's not giving her anything in return, she knows she
can't say anything and
it becomes painful for her to be close to him."
After resigning herself to the
fact that her wish is unlikely to be fulfilled, Stephanie tries to avoid Drew
and seeks refuge at No.30, the home of her good mate, Toadie Rebecchi.
"Drew
comes over to No.30 while Stephanie and Toadie are there," Carla explains.
"After he leaves, Stephanie starts acting really weird and Toadie asks
'what’s wrong?' Stephanie basically lets it all out, telling Toadie how
much she loves Drew, and how difficult it is for her to keep a lid on her
feelings. Toadie forces Stephanie to weigh up all the options: Is she so in love
with Drew that she wants to pursue it and risk her friendship with Libby? Or
should she just try to forget about him?"
Toadie's advice is even more
poignant as he recently harboured an attraction for Stephanie. "It's ironic
that Toadie should be the person who Stephanie confides in," Carla admits.
"They both know how it feels to gall for a mate, and for them not to feel the
same way." Fortunately for Stephanie, there is a glimmer of hope on the
horizon. While Drew is open  and honest about his continuing feelings for Libby,
he is also making an effort to get over her. And part of the effort seems to
involve spending time with Stephanie.
"Drew
offers to help Stephanie with some deliveries that she's having trouble
with," Carla reveals. "It might no mean anything, but it gives her hope.
Perhaps he does feel something for her and is yet to realize it?" While
Stephanie has an uncanny ability to read whatever she chooses into Drew's
actions, Carla says she would never be so naïve in real life. "I would
give up and move on," she laughs. "There's only so much you can do to make
someone fall for you. If I was her, I'd find someone else!"
