"This is the fourth or fifth time she's been cheated on"

No matter how much her friends and family tried to warn her off, Libby Kennedy was convinced she had finally found her perfect match in her university lecturer Mike Healey. But now she is going to be proved wrong. Her dreams of true love are shattered this fortnight when she finds out that not only is Mike still sleeping with his estranged wife Victoria but she's also expecting his baby. 

"Mike's daughter Sasha lets it slip that Victoria is pregnant," explains Kym Valentine, who plays Libby. "Libby cottons on that it's Mike's baby and tells him she has had enough." Mike is just the latest in a long line of rotters who have caused Libby heartache over the years. "I was very concerned as this is the fourth or fifth time Libby has been cheated on, which isn't a very healthy pattern!" laughs Kym. "I enjoyed the challenge of making this time slightly different. I was worried viewers wouldn't care and would just think, 'oh no, not this again!'"

By contrast, 22 year old Kym has a harmonious relationship with her boyfriend Chris. "We're extremely happy," she says. "We've been together for two years and it just keeps getting better and better. Kym Valentine the party girl is a thing of the past. I've really grown out of all that. It's something you have to get out of your system. I'm now much more content to hand around the house rather than go out. I even go to bed early these days!"
