WRITERS'
NIGHT. The CWC's main fund-raising event is also and annual
reunion and Christmas Party for all the country's writers.
Artists (like Bencab, Danny Dalena, Malang, Manny Baldemor,
etc.) donate their works and writers donate their literary
memorabilia, rare books which are then auctioned off. Proceeds
go toward funding the CWC's many projects.
CREATIVE
WRITING SCHOLARSHIPS AND WRITING GRANTS. Scholarships
for Creative Writing majors, and writing grants for faculty
members who are writers are donated directly to the CWC, which
chooses deserving recipients and monitors their work.
THE
LIKHAAN CREATIVE WRITING FOUNDATION. The foundation was
set up by friends of the CWC to raise and administer funds
for the CWC's projects. Initial fund-raisers were a Literary
Lunch and royalties from the book, Shaking the Family Tree
(Anvil, 1998).
