Lacuesta is first Madrigal-Gonzalez Best First Book awardee
MAKATI CITY - Angelo Lacuesta's "Life Before X" was awarded the first Madrigal-Gonzalez Best First Book Award last July 12 in simple rites here.
   The book, published by the University of the Philippines Press, was selected by Gemino Abad, Marjorie Evasco and Jessica Zafra, the board of judges.
   The award, given to the best first book in English published in the years 1999-2000, was donated by the family of Gizela Gonzalez-Montinola.
   The next award will be given to the best first book in Filipino published in the years 2000 and 2001.
