Corsicana's Five Generations

Published in the Corsicana Newspaper, 1929

The above picture is of Mrs. Annie (Grandma) Foster who resides in Thorpe Addition and four generations of descendents.

Reading left to right are Mrs. Foster, 89, native of Tennessee but resident of Corsicana and Navarro county 44 years.  Mrs. Bettie Foster Karnes, 70, daughter of Mrs. Foster, is the second, being the mother of Foster Karnes, 47, who appears next in the picture.  To the extreme right of the picture is Mrs. Vivian Cooksey, 20, of Crockett, Texas, daughter of Mr. Karnes, and mother of Vera Mae Cooksey, three months old baby.

Mrs. Foster has more than 100 living descendents.

"Grandma" Foster has kept up with the happenings of the times until a few months ago when her eyesight began failing but she can graphically recount the happenings, etc., which has transpired within her observance since she was a small child.  She is the widow of the late W. J. Foster, Confederate veteran.

The above was typed directly from the newspaper article.  How I wish someone would have written down all those graphical recountings of the lifetime of Mrs. Annie Elizabeth Wooten Foster!!! Below is  a much clearer picture taken the same day:
