WHERE DID WE COME FROM?
Below I have listed the immigrants that we either know for fact the country of origination, or we can make a good educated guess based on other records. Some we know in what year and what ship they arrived. For others, family or historical documents reflect what country they came from, I just haven't been able to track down the ship and year. There are 39 individuals listed below. Of those, 31 came from England, 1 from Germany and 7 from Ireland. So, I guess when my Grandmother said we were of English-Irish descent, she knew what she was talking about. One other interesting point is that 29 of them arrived before the year 1700. The earliest is 1613. That means that most of our family has been here around 300-400 years. There are also a few folks mentioned below that aren't completely proven as our ancestors. Evidence seems likely that they are, but I have marked them as "pending further research" in their individual records and made note below. The other note I have made here is the "bef" for before. This happens when the first record for an ancestor in this country is on a certain date, but we just don't know when he got here. Little clues, like census records giving an age, give us a general idea of when he was born, and we know when he first shows up in this country. Last, note the disclaimer on the home page, this data is to the best of my knowledge and corrections are always welcome.
