John Smith McDearman
Family Cemetery

This family cemetery was originally situated in the northeast corner of the McDearman Strawberry Farm, near the family home in Judsonia, White County, Arkansas. The farm was sold in 1917-18 after the death of Sarah Jane McDearman. The deed stated that the family and descendents were to have "egress to the family cemetery forever". With time, high grasses and weeds took over and the cemetery was lost for many years. It was rediscovered about 1985 when the State of Arkansas was widening the road. 


This picture shows the cemetery in front of the Judsonia water tower.  If you look closely, you can see the small fenced area in front of the water tower where the cemetery is.

This cemetery is located in Section 33, Township 8 North, Range 6 West. It is due north of the Judsonia water tower, on State Highway 371 approximately 100 yards east of the U.S. Highway 67 overpass.
