Siberian Husky Rescue

When I was about 10 years old my father brought home my first Siberian Husky. He had gone to the Geauga County Humane Society to look for our Norwegian Elkhound that had disappeared a few days earlier. When he was there he saw a beautiful black and white Siberian Husky that  he just had to take home. He said it was something in her eyes and he just couldn't leave her there. Tasha was one of the best dogs I've ever owned. Back then I couldn't understand why somebody would give up a perfectly good dog. Tasha was turned in for running away. Most Siberian Husky's are turned into shelters or abandoned for simply being Siberian Husky's. People who dont know the breed buy this wonderfully cute fluffy puppy from pet stores or back yard breeders and have no idea what this breed is about. They love to run and will the minute they get the chance! They love to dig and they are very stubborn. These same qualities that draw me to this breed are the same qualities that cause them to be abandoned. Thanks to Siberian Husky rescue organizations around the world some of these dogs are getting a second chance at life.  The wonderful men and woman who work in Siberian Husky rescue are the hero's of today. Please visit one of the links below, and maybe even fall in love, the way my dad did...
