This is a wonderful preemie bootee for you to knit.

Level: easy - medium

Tools Required:
3.25mm needles
4ply baby wool
Needle for sewing seam

Instructions:
(make 2 - beg at ankle)
Using 3.25mm needles cast on 26 sts

Work 21 rows garter st

Shape instep:
k16, turn
k6, turn
Cont on these 6 sts, leaving 10 sts on needle either side of instep
Work 16 rows garter st on these 6 sts.
Break off yarn.

Shape Sides:
With the right side facing, rejoin yarn to the end of 10 sts at right edge, knit up 9 sts evenly along first side of instep, knit across 6 sts from instep, knit 9 evenly along, then knit across rem sts 44 sts
Work 11 rows garter st

Shape heel & toe:
1st row - k2tog, k18, (k2tog) twice, k18, k2tog......40sts
2nd and alt rows - Knit
3rd row - k2tog, k16, (k2tog) twice, k16, k2tog......36 sts
5th row - k2tog, k14, (k2tog) twice, k14, k2tog......32 sts
Knit 1 row. cast off loosely.

Make up:
Join back and foot seam
