Permission was given by designer to revise the pattern for hand knitting.
Here is another bootee pattern for a preemie.
It was designed to fit a preemie weighing around 5-6lb.
Level:
easy
Tools Required:
3.25mm needles
3ply baby yarn
Ribbon
Instructions:
1. Using 3.25mm needles cast
on 36sts
2. work 16 rows rib (k1, p1)
3. k1, *yfwd, k2tog, rep from * to last st, k1,
4. knit across row
5. cast on 2 sts at beg of next for rows
6. work 10 rows garter st
7. k2tog, twice, k9, k2tog 4 times, k9, k2tog twice
8.Cast off LOOSELY. Leave tail of yarn long enough to use for sewing
seams.
Make up:
With wrong side
facing, sew bottom of sole. Tie securely and weave in end. Sew
back sew half way up the rib band. Turn work facing right side and
finish sewing the rib band. Fold down the band resting just above
the ribbon holes Thread ribbon in ribbon holes. And tie into a bow at the centre front.
