Here is a very easy bootee pattern for you to knit. You will be making these bootees by the dozen. The sample bootee was made using "Sugar Baby" baby yarn by Coats Patons. As far as I know the yarn is only available in Australia.
Level: easy - medium
Tools Required:
3.25mm
needles
3ply baby yarn or very soft 4ply baby yarn
Ribbon
Instructions:
1. Using 3.25mm needles cast on 26sts
2. work 16 rows rib (k1, p1)
3. k1, *yfwd, k2tog, rep from * to last st, k1,
4. knit across row
5. cast on 2 sts at beg of next for rows
6. work 6 rows garter st
Shape Foot:
7. k1, *k2tog, k11, k2tog, k2, rep from * once
8. knit
9. k1, *k2tog, k9, k2tog, k2, rep from * once
10. knit
Cast off.
Make up:
With wrong side facing, sew bottom of sole.
Tie securely and weave in end. Sew back sew half way up the rib
band. Turn work facing right side and finish sewing the rib band.
Fold down the band resting just above the ribbon holes Thread ribbon in ribbon holes. And tie into a bow at the centre front.
