Crocheted Preemie Hat Pattern

This crocheted hat pattern is a wonderful pattern to expand on your crochet
skills and the use of different pattern techniques.

Level: medium

Tools Required:
3mm crochet hook
4ply baby wool

FPDC; Front Post Double Crochet: Double crochet stitch worked around the
post of stitch in the row below. YO, insert hook from the front of the work around
the back of the stitch and through to the front of the work again. The post or
shaft of the dc from the row below lays across the hook. YO pull up loop,
complete same as a dc st. [YO pull through 2 loops, YO pull through last 2 loops on hook]
 

Instructions:
ch 6, join with sl st to form ring.
Rnd 1 - ch3, 11 dc in ring. Join with sl st in top of ch3
Rnd 2 - ch3, 1 dc in same st as ch3, 2dc in each st. Join with sl st in top of ch3
Rnd 3 - ch3, 1dc in same st as ch3, *1dc in next st, FPDC around next st,
[1dc, FPDC] into next 3sts, rep from * to last st, 1dc, FPDC in last st. Join with sl st in top of ch3.
Rnd 4 to 9 - ch3, *1dc in next st, FPDC in next st, rep from * to end. Join with sl st in top of ch3.
Rnd 10 - ch3, dc in front loops only in each st around to form fold line. Join with sl st in top of ch3
Rnd 11 - ch3, dc in each st. Join with sl st in top of ch3
Fasten off. Weave in all ends.

OPTIONAL:
You may like to add a pompom to the top of the hat.
