description: I am a student of anthropology at Utah State University.
For one of my class projects, I am investigating the Mapuche resistance
to Spanish conquest (which fascinates me) from an archaeological perspective.
Specifically, I am looking for any artifacts or features left by the Mapuches
from the colonial period of Chile (especially war related implements). Aside
from that, I am half Chilean and have a handful of Mapuche friends that
I am constantly in touch with. I would simply like to delve more into their
history.

I recently graduated from the University of Toronto, where I received an
MA in anthropology. I am now living in Puerto Montt, Chile.
For a number of years I have been in contact with Mapuche people. I took language classes for two years with Sofia Painiqueo at the Folilche Aflaiai Institute. I would like to be in contact with other people interested in the Mapuche people in the internet. By the way, I am planning to write a thesis about the Nguillatun... If anyone has recomendations for references I will appreciate your suggestions.
