description: I am currently the Manager for the Center for Applied
Biodiversity Science at Conservation International. I was a former Fulbright
scholar in Chile working as a collaborating scholar with the Fundacion Instituto
Indigena while I conducted my research in the sector of Icalma in the Comuna
of Lonquimay with the Pehuenche.While in Chile, I was the liason for the
First Lady's visit to Temuco in April of 1998 to meet with Mapuche groups.
I continue to conduct research with respect my investigation and the Pueblo
Mapuche.
I recieved my BA in Latin American Studies from George Washington University in May 1997. My previous experiences with the Mapuche-Mapuche Pehuenche culture were in 1995 when I conduct a study on the Mantisfestacions of Urban Mapuche Movements in Temuco and in 1996 when I worked with a traditional Mapuche silversmith studying the cultural and religious symbolism of the Mapuche Jewelry.
I currently resident in Washington, DC with my husband, Fabian Painemilla who is from the Communidad de Piedra Alta in the Comuna de Puerto Saavedra, IX Region.
My name is Andris Waissbluth, I am chilean. I studied Cinema in Cuba. In
this m oment I am working in the script for a feature lenght film about
the so called Pacificacion de la Araucania. I am looking for useful information
