NEWSLETTER JANUARY 2004

Brethren, great things are happening in Wickliffe Lodge 625.  We are building a new Lodge on 3 prime acres on Buck Rd. in the Wickliffe Industrial Park.  The 3 acre lot measures 300’ X 600’.  The main Lodge building will be 50’ X 120’, including a 40’ X 50’ Lodge hall and a large kitchen- dining area.  Your suggestions and comments are welcome from the Lodge floor.

A contract has been let for a steel utility building, 30’ X64’, with 4” concrete floor and insulation. A BBQ pit is in the works also.  THE BUILDING IS NOW COMPLETE, drive by and check it out.

We recently merged with Hazelwood Lodge and gained 52 new members. Total membership is now 150 and growing.  The existing Lodge building is much too small to accommodate the membership.  The expansion is long overdue.

Due to declining Masonic membership in Kentucky (down 1700 in 2003), and the increase in expense of the Grand Lodge, your dues for 2004 will be $50.00 per year.  Your dues notice is in this news letter.  With the increase in membership, the secretary needs your help.  Please submit your dues in a timely fashion.  You will be in arrears April 1st and subject to suspension in July.  The increase in dues was voted in at the November 10 meeting.  If paying your dues is a financial hardship, contact the secretary.  If your address or phone changes please notify the secretary as soon as possible.

Tis the season again, for Christmas baskets that is.  We are busily planning for it right now.  If you wish to help out in this important annual program again this year, we will assemble the baskets at the Ballard County Elementary School on Dec. 19th at high 12.  The baskets will be picked up Dec. 20th starting at 7:30am.  For some kinds in Ballard County, our program is the only Christmas they will have.  Donations and spoil proof grocery items are also needed.

Brethren, your Lodge needs your support now as never before. Make plans early to attend all Lodge functions, and bring a brother with you.  If you need transportation, contact any officer of the Lodge.

Wayne Hargrove, Secretary

Brothers,

It has been an honor and a privilege serving Wickliffe Lodge as master for the 2003 Lodge year.  We have had some high points and some low points, but I am thankful that the high points outweigh the low points.  Good luck and best wishes for a happy and glorious holiday season.

Robert G. Eddings, Master
