The Marvin Depreciation Society

Miscellaneous: The Council of the Royal Society is a collection of men who elect each other to office and then dine together at the expense of the society to praise each other over wine and give each other medals.
[Charles Babbage, 1792 to 1871]

Pithy Sayings

The fan club was mentioned on the sleeves of Marvin's 1981 hit singles "Marvin" and "Reasons To Be Miserable", as follows:

For further news of how bad life can be, write to:
The Marvin Depreciation Society, 2 Whitechurch Lane, London E1

The proprietors were:

SARM Productions Limited
Osborne House
Osborn Street
London E1 6TD
United Kingdom
Tel: +44-171-247-1311

I wrote off in 1981 and received details of why not to join. I did anyway and received a copy of the first (and only) newsletter.

The Marvin Depreciation Society seems to have died shortly after its creation. This is somehow appropriate.
