“Over My Shoulder”

Everyday of life, I try to get some true love.
I desire that one girl whom I’ll always love.
I look all around for her. She cannot be found.
I look over my shoulder. I look all around.

I dream of that happiness every single day.
But as time grows, those chances start to blow away.
Soon, I’ll be too old to love, and I’ll die alone.
I haven’t found that one chance. Not one chance has shown.

But I try with what I have, which is not a lot.
I am covered in scars from battles I have fought.
One day, I will win the battle and get true love.
If not, then I will end up in the clouds above.

I look everywhere for that special girl I need.
There has got to be someone. That is all I plead.
Why so many people have gotten some true love,
and I’ve tried with all my might, and I can’t find love.

I’m getting too old for dates, friendships, and first love.
My age, I should be married. I should have true love.
But I’ve been single since the day that I was born.
Every day in life, I lay in my bed and mourn.

I pray someday that one nice girl would come over.
Tap me on my back. I’ll look over my shoulder.
I will see the most prettiest girl as can be.
And she’ll ask for my true love for eternity.
