2000-08-01 Tuesday

Returned The Cay to the library. This is my twelfth book on tape. I'm going to take a little break.

2000-08-02 Wednesday

2000-08-09 Wednesday

We watched Survivor. We didn't know if it would be Kelly or Sean. Just the original four from the Tagi alliance. Now the show will get even more interesting.

2000-08-10 Thursday

The Hall Family Meeting is cancelled. Don't know if I'll take tomorrow as vacation or not.

We talked about visiting Steve and Sharon in Michigan. Tammy said that they are hosting a Korean foreign exchange student. In shock, I realized something:

Everything I know about Korea, I learned from watching M*A*S*H.

2000-08-11 Friday

Took the day off. We traveled to Michigan to visit Steve and Sharon. Spent the night with them.

2000-08-12 Saturday

Still in Michigan. Drove up to visit Steve and Diana for the afternoon. Back to Steve and Sharon's.

2000-08-13 Sunday

Drove back to Ohio and napped. Had Chinese food for dinner. Went over to Tammy's parents. The garage is looking good.

2000-08-14 Monday

Back to work. Christopher hurt his back, so I'll be working most of the Actuate issues.

Pizza for dinner.

Tammy had checked out several books on Home Schooling, also a Time-Life book on children learning to read. This was very interesting.

2000-08-15 Tuesday

Updated this journal with events of last weekend.

Marlinn back from vacation. Had cake and ice cream for her belated birthday.

2000-08-19 Saturday

We went to the Pataskala Street Fair. The parade was from about noon to 1:30pm. We were near the end and it took about 20 minutes to reach us. Delainie was not frightened by any of the sirens on the police, fire or EMS vehicles, a fact that amazed us both.

We each had a lemon shake up, shared an enourmous cheddar cheeseburger and shared a funnel cake. We bought a half-dozen postcards from the historical society. Most were like the one I bought a few years back at the Ohio State Fair.

In the evening, we went over to Bill and Mary's.

2000-08-20 Sunday

Delainie was playing with Legos in the evening and was trying to put them together. This is a first. She's very good at taking things apart. However, she does try and put the large plastic beads together when the come apart, and she's been doing this for quite some time.

Wrote a CD-ROM with about 183 mp3s on it.

2000-08-21 Monday

Christopher was here today at work.

Stopped off at the library and checked out Airframe by Michael Crichton on cassette.

Delainie was able to go over and bring back her toy sheep. Tammy was telling me that she is ahead on her development. This is something that the book shows that she shouldn't be able to do until 18 months or so. She's already been getting in the rocking chair when we tell her to do that. Smart child.

2000-08-22 Tuesday

David emailed me this morning about the Seiko SmartPad. Pretty cool, but pricy.

Listened to the first side of the first tape of Airframe. Pretty good. The couple in the very beginning had my attention. At first it seemed as if they had adopted a daughter from China. It never was explained, but I think that she was there own biological daughter and was born in China. According to the book, they lived there for a year.
