Michelle LaRae was born to Brian Flannery and Laurie Flannery on
January 22, 1986 at 1:07pm, in Calgary, AB. She was the third of their three children and the biggest at birth, 6 lbs 3 oz. She was healthy until she developed asthma at around a year old. Laurie went to the hospital in Calgary as a routine visit with a Neo-natal specialist. She was doing fine and the specialist decided to call her home town doctor to see if it would be a good time to induce her. Brooks doctor said "Go for it! " and 4 hours later, Michelle was born. Brian couldn't make it, he was working that day...they didn't know that Michelle would be born, it was suppose to be just a regular visit. Fortunately her grandmother, Gerry was present at her birth, the day before her own birthday. Her grandmother thought that she was a boy cause the cord was between her legs...Surprise!! Michelle had a ton of black hair and cute chubby cheeks. She was named after Laurie's friend LaRae who was actually Michelle's first visitor in the hospital, she lived in Calgary at the time. Brian and Jennifer (her older sister) came shortly after. Laurie and Michelle came back to Brooks the following morning. Brian and Jen came to pick her up and Laurie traveled all the whole trip in the back seat with Michelle. She still had some phlegm from her birth that she was trying to get out of her lungs and that made them a bit anxious. She also had a bit of Jaundice so she was admitted with Laurie in the Brooks hospital for the next 5 days. They came home healthy and happy.
