40 Kilometers of two parallel highways
Both roads 443 and 45 start at Ben-Shemen interchange and merge again north to Giv'at-Ze'ev.
The distance between the two routes ranges from 100 meters to one kilometer.
20,000 trees will be sacrifised when the bouldozers will clear the way for the new road.
The simple and "common sense" solution of expanding the existing road 443 is unaccepted by MAATZ. This solution minimizes the cost, duration and the damage to nature and historic sites as well as the quality of life of the residents in the Modi'in settlements - Shilat, El-midia, Hashmonaim, Lapid,Kfar Oranim, Kfar Rut, Matityahu, Kiryat Sefer and Beit Horon.
