People

..The following passages were written by Kyoko Sakurada for "The Minato Times," the local newspaper. These are just very brief summaries of some of the major families/groups/organizations in the MHBK story.

The Mark Family

..Even a stranger can tell you that this is no ordinary family. The mother, Rebecca, is a detective working on a hi-profile mafia case. The father, Nate, is secretive and runs a private detective agency from the building the family owns. Harley, the only child, has been living in Japan for the last five years but came back when he graduated. Neighbors have complained that they've seen the Marks fighting on the rooftop or could even hear them form inside the building. When asked, they reply that they were just sparing. It's a well known fact that all three are skilled fighters, but none of them brag about it. Many odd things have been happening with the family lately and it seems there is only more to come.

The Miller Family

..The Miller family is just a typical upper-middle class family. The parents are part owners of a small shop on the outskirts of town. Their life is a simple one, oh wait I forget to mention their daughter. Stacey Miller is your average 18 year old, spunky, free willed, a trouble magnent. Her parents blame her problems on her boyfriend, Harley Mark. Even though the two young love birds like eachother, Stacey's parents are hoping that she'll find a man that's less, "adventurous." There is a rummer going around that the only reason Stacey is allowed to see Harley is because Harley's parents brought man who killed the Miller's only son to justice.

The Motokawa Family

..The Motokawa's are a normal family, or rather were. Derek, the father, was a special agent for the DEA. Six months ago he received an urgent notice and had to leave on "business." That was the last his wife and daughter ever heard from him until two months later when Naru, his wife, got a message saying he had died "on duty." Soon after, Naru and her daughter Ami moved to Minato because of the Japanese culture here. But if you think that is the end of the story you are wrong. I've found some rather shocking info, but I'll have to save it for later for various reasons.

The Danner Family

..The Danner Family owns the ever popular Danner Bar and Grill. Known for it's collection of truckers, bikers and blue-collar workers, the DBG isn't the best place to take the kids to dinner. Several times a year street fighting contest are held and are open to any who dare. Even though the regulars my seen roudy, the owners have proved more than once that they don't tolerate any inappropiate behavior in their establishment.

The Montresor Family

..The Montresor family is known for two things: their temper and their crime syndicate. The Montresor crime organization is known all over the globe for their power. Headed by the aging Alphonse Montresor, the family owns a company called Montresor Manufacturing. They say they build special machinery, but some believe they are building weapons and processing drugs. In recent times the family has run apon hard times due to internal conflicts, crippling investigations and outdated business methodes. Rumors abound about a special investigation that will bring down not only the Montresor family, but several other mafia families also.

Mechatron Heavy Robotics Inc.

..Formed in 1990, MHRI has revolutionized robotics technology. Starting with the amazing "Ima" processor, many new ideas have come from here. The company holds several important patents and several more up and coming young minds. Recently, Stu Renalds, the current CEO, announced that the company would be developing new military hardware. Some experts believe that this is very dangerous for the company, sighting the rumors that MHRI has been secretly working with Montresor Munafacturing. A spokesman commented that all such accusations were false and that the company has some surprises in store for the world.

The Nitro Lords

..If the Devil belongs to any group, then it's the Nitro Lords. Not much is known about who these people are, but what they have done and are doing is a sad fact. What is known is that these poeple operate one of the most powerful crime syndicates in the world. Almost every industrialized county wants them brought down. Even other mafia bosses want them dead. If there's a crime to commit, they've done it, at least three times. Their ruthless tactics make them feared by all except those brave enough to stand against them. Rumor has it they call themselves the Nitro Lords because they are extrememely volitile and can go off without warning. There are some who are believe the Nitro Lords posses super-human abilities, but these are the same people who think there is a covert army working with our military.

The "Metal Miltia"

..In the world of heavy metal these days, a group or idividual must have a unique quality that seperates them from the masses and makes them get noticed. So when a group of five teen-age girls, three of whom are japanese, appeared covering Metallica songs, they got noticed. Many people laughed at them, calling them "a horrible gimmic," until they (the Metal Militia) beat the crap out of a leading music reporter. Soon after, the MM made it clear they weren't some weird gimmic. Producing one of the loadest and hardest shows around, the MM has made a name for themselves. Unfortunately, there is also a darker side to their success. Two riots, mysterious sightings, trouble with the law and lack of original material have hurt the young group.

"The Hole"

..For those who enjoy dark, dank holes, this place is for you. A bastian of counter-culture and deprivaty, "The Hole" has earned a quite the reputation. With "rumored" drug deals, prostitution, occult activities, deafining music and other such wholesome activities, the police have started to keep a close eye on the club. The current ring leader is Ann R. Ki (pronounced "anarchy" and yes, it's her legal name), a young lady who got herself into trouble for various offenses in the area of 18+ type things. Recently, there have been reports of high-powered business men being severely injured, but no other information is available.

ExtraCovert

..In this day and age of "X-Files" hype, an old conspiracy has come to light. When I say old, I mean dating back to that ever so special date. Conspiracy has it that there is a super powerful para-military group working with the UN. Leading "experts" say Extra Covert is an acronym for some top-secret phrase. These "experts" say that EC is responsible for covering up the exsistance of aliens and super heroes, carrying out assinations, starting wars, revolutions, riots. Also on their resumé is stock tampering, kidnapping, blackmail, bribbery...you get the picture. It is also though that EC is developing their own line of advanced weapons using alien technology. I was eager to hear more about this organization, but my "secret informant" thought he had already revealed too much and I could be in danger. I was sooo disapointed ^_^ Just remember, don't tell anyone about this article or you will vanish without a trace ;)

Project "Linn Minmei"

..Going along with the ExtraCovert theory, this insightful little bit is almost interesting. Appearently, years ago (take a guess at the year) good old Uncle Sam got a hold of some alien technology, of the highly advanced variety of coarse. This technology is being used to develope a variety of super jets to do whatever super alien fighter jets do. Granted, I do beleive that our military has been developing classified new jets over the years, but not anything involving E.T.

The "Gammas"

..Just when you thought you've heard them all, here's another conspiracy for you all. Tying in to both the previous two theories, this one is out there. Durring the late 50's and early 60's, our military was using highly advanced alien technology to create a race of genetically engineered super soldiers. These "Gammas" were appearently supposed to be the main employees of ExtraCovert. Now I must state something, I've gotton all this wackey junk from the same guy so that's why it all fits together. You're lucky that I'm not even going to get into how this guy also thinks there are a bunch a of super heroes in Japan running around in sailor suits. I just wish the government would find out where all these nut jobs come from...
