New Directions
Mood:  a-ok
Five years since the last blog update.  After 22 years, the company I have worked for has closed down when the owner retired ... hence, the title of this blog ... New Directions. Career moves are part of capitalism and offer us periodically a challenge to develop ourselves in new ways.  Onward and upward... !

2012 Update
Well it is now 3 years later since I last logged into this blog tool and it is still online.  Life in Greece is more difficult these days with the economic crisis that has affected everyone greatly.  We are enjoying Easter holidays on the other hand and we can thank God that the family is healthy and our children growing well.

Another attempt at using this blogging software.

Greetings after four years.  I had stopped using this blog four years ago shortly after creation because I had been unable to post new posts for unknown reasons.  Now four years later I am able to post anew ... so I guess whatever the bug was has been fixed.

We spend the Greek Easter holiday weekend visiting the beautiful city of Kastoria known for its fur trade.  Kastoria is named after the beaver common to the area years ago and called castor in Greek.  While the beaver has not survived the fur trade has importing furs from abroad and fabricating furs locally.  The city is also home to over 75 bysantine churches and is situated on a penisula jutting out over a beautiful lake.  While there we enjoyed company of friends (Anna and Babis who put us up), fine walks, and a visit to the Circus Maximus.

Welcome to the Wells Blog
Mood:  accident prone

Greetings and a Happy New Year to One and All!

I am creating this blog as a Wells Family weekly news page that I would imagine to be mostly of interest only to members of the Wells family. It's purpose is to provide a central repository for news and information for members of the family spread far and apart. Members of the Wells family can post to this blog by sending an email to michael_wells_gr@blog.tripod.com along with a Pw:password line with the password (that can be obtained on request from michael_wells_gr@yahoo.com) before the main body of the text. (PS. I haven't got this to work yet.)

As this year closes a difficult issue parents sometimes must face is foremost on our minds. We are sad to report on this first blog entry that our eldest daughter chipped and impacted (e.g. knocked) one of her new front teeth up into her upper jaw after tripping over last Wednesday. This is a difficult case to deal with. The poor prognosis is that it might push back out again in a couple of months and may or may not be dead. If it doesn't push out of it's own accord, braces may tease it out little by little. On the long term it may mean a crown. Permanent solutions usually have to wait until a person is eighteen and stops growing. We hope and pray for the best possible result.
