From an Enigmatic mind ...

I got two words to say about M:3's show at Gandalf's on March 26: Da-amn. As in damn. As in, we got nice. Definitely, by far, easily our best show, and I'm sure the addition of the whole band had alot to do with that. Much thanks to Dan, Nick and Brian for learning our songs and helping us out.

It started out with a pretty straightforward "MikeCheck," then headed into "NoComp," then a quick rendition of "Ice Ice Baby." Most songs went over well, but especially "NoComp," "WhereYaAt," "Rhimes21," "HippieHop," and "HalfPast." We was straight off the hee-zay, and stole the show (dare I say?). I can tell you that from my angle it was a lovely, lovely experience -- the whole group seemed to have an added confidence and competence on stage that we didn't have before, which is odd considering this was our first show in months. King actually hyped the crowd, DR lurked, Poet was crazy, Skooch was on crowd control while I composed and the band jammed. Our on stage personas and roles are definitely starting to form, and it's beautiful to see it happen. I felt bad for Jarvik 7, who put together the show and who had to follow us, because we definitely shined.

We received more compliments after this show than any other, and I could tell they were pretty sincere (No one's going to walk up to you and tell you "you sucked", so you gotta take compliments with a grain of salt). We definitely won over alot of new fans, and the future looks like it's going to be bright. Shows are lining up, T-shirts and CDs are in high demand, and Midnight:30 is sliding in from the underground.

Peace...

From an enigmatic mind ...

An odd thing, life. It's the little things that make you happy, and let you know your work is appreciated.

The other day I was in a convenience store and some kid (16, 17 maybe) came running up and said (kinda nervous-like) "Hey, are you the singer in that rap band? I saw you guys in Frostburg, you guys were awesome."
The DopeRapper was walking into same convenience store awhile ago and some chick yells "Hey Midnight:30." The DR looked, grunted, and she said "You're in that rap group, Midnight:30, aren't you?"

I was walking through the mall and looked up and saw some guy rocking a green Midnight:30 shirt.
The King and I were looking through some chick's pictures and saw a girl we didn't know rocking a red one.
Hanging in the window of a store along Main Street in Frostburg is a blue M:3 T-shirt.

At the end of a show, this chick walks up to me, begging me for a shirt, which wasn't my department, and I let her know. "Come on, you have a shirt I can have, don't you?" No, I didn't. "What about this one?"--stepping close, caressing  my stomach/M:3 shirt I was wearing--"Can't you give me this shirt?"
Yikes.

I'm sitting at a friend's house (Bustin's), talking about an upcoming show with one of his roommates. "What band are you in?" asks his girlfriend. "Midnight:30." (astonishment) "You're in Midnight:30? I heard you guys were awesome."

And, if the rumors are true, there's some band out there calling themselves Noon-Thirty.

The signs are out there, and something's a-brewing. The winds are swirling, there's a chill in the air, and something's building on the horizon. Check your clocks, y'all ... it's about half-past.

Peace.
