Demonstrating the kind of exuberant charisma that is largely lacking in the solo artists in his generation, Amr comes out blazing on year 2001 with "akter wahid" , keeping his beats fresh and defining a persona for himself that keeps his successful history into full account. A snappy and utterly enjoyable pop record. From its relentlessly catchy opening title track "wala ala balu" to its sappy, heart-clenching closer "ya habibi la". The album kicks off with the high-octane "Wala Ala Balu " a tour de force of Eastern rhythm,techno background, rap lyrics over a thumping dance beat. The song was clearly this album's main hit and his new record's signature track. Title song "akter wahid" has arguably the best danceable, up-tempo tune on the album. The album focused on soft ballads with a decent melody and sly flow such as "Olt Eih" and "Sadany Khalas" "ya habibi la" and "baad ellyaly" which was the sleepy hit of this marvelous masterpiece. In this track, producer Tarik Madkoor proved that his skills as an arranger isn't limited to rhythmic intelligence, either. On the other hand, Amr Diab, as an old habit, could not help standing behind the microphone. He CO-produced the two versions of his album's main hit "wala ala balu" in his second experience as producer after his first ever CO-produced song "Ainy" for Egyptian singer Simon in 1992 . He CO-composed "baad Ellyaly." Track " adeeny Regatelek" -orginially planned as a title track-demonstrates another sense of creativity by producer Tarik Madkoor in this second installment for the known hit " Heya". Unique and creative lyrics by writer Baha Eldeen Mohammed found its place between Amr Diab's chores and composition. Breaking News :an update from Amr about the new movie and his American- Canadian 2001 Tour.     11-10-2001. Dear Concert promoters and faithful fans in North America, Due to the sad tragedies and the uptight status that are accruing in the United States, Mr. Amr Diab sadly delayed (canceled for the time being) his American-Canadian Tour for year 2001. From another side, Pyramids company (responsible for Amr Diab and Khaled's events management in North America and owner of AD2000 ) pushed back Amr's and Khaled's American tours back to 2002. Khaled's tour is expected to resume in Feb 2002. Amr's Tour may take place after the release of his forthcoming summer 2002 release. Any updates or announcements from Amr or Pyramids inc. regarding this issue will be announced here promptly. Amr Diab decided a shooting date of his new installment (movie) . Arabian International Star Amr Diab heated up the summer with his new release "akter wahid" and sold-out concerts. Amr's latest release held the first spot in Rotana's top selling albums for year 2001. The album also is topping Music Master chart and Arabic magazines album charts. When Egyptian audience seem to be singling out "Baad Ellyaly,"" Wala ala balu" and "La ya habibi" as the album's most favorite tracks. Gulf audience seem to have a different view as they favored "Ahabek Akrahek" and "Sadany Khalas". "Ahebek Akrahek" is now an airplay radio hit. The echo of European listeners was totally different as they singled out the title track "akter wahid" as a crossover mega hit. However, Europian audiance are waiting for the video clip of "Akter Wahid" to support the distripution of the song worldwide. However and unlike rumored, Akter Wahid video clip was not shot. Despite the short period of its release, the new album is achieving an astronomical prosperity even in mobile ring tones service specially in UAE where Amr's new album ring tones are topping the charts. After a short vication to France, and not spain as rumored, in the company of his family and new born daughter "Karma", Amr came back with another storming concert. This time the concert , as titled, took place at fantasy land new park. The concert started at 12.15 pm and ended at 1.45 . Amr appeared in black shirt and blue jeans along with his legendary guitarist Amro Tantawy . The limitation of the concert place was a result to reduce the amount of attendants who were estimated by 2000 fans. Amr performed ,Nour Alain , Awedoony , Amarain , Khalek Fakerni, Alalem Allah, Tamally Maak, Heya, Saaban Alaya, Aamel eih, Aktar wahed, Wala ala balo, Kan tayeb ,Baed el layali, Adeeny regetelek. Amr Tantawiy was another source of attraction . The returning guitarist talent was faced with a storm of cheers and support from Amr's fans who were happy to see his return to the band. For those who don't know , Amr Tantawy is held responsible for composing 3 of Amr's most successful hits "Awedoony, Welomony, Kol Elkalam". one of the most known guests was Mamdouh Mousa. Later time, Amr said that this would be his last "public" concert in Egypt this summer. He added that he was in his way to Dubai.
