Jerad di'Saland Alwihn

Jerad di'Saland Alwihn was born in the city of Illian to a wealthy merchant's daughter and a young Lord. Due to his wealthy parents, he lived a life of luxury in a place where most people struggled to feed themselves. When Jerad was very young, the Whitecloak Wars erupted, reaping the seeds of chaos that had been sown in the preceding years. Jerad and his family were arrested by Whitecloaks during this time, because they supported the King of Illian, rather than Pedron Niall.

Jerad's mother was put to the question while Jerad was forced to watch. She died shortly afterwards. About a week after their imprisonment, Jerad and his father were rescued when an Altaran legion attacked the Whitecloak encampment. The Altarans were defeated in this battle, yet the disorder that ensued during the time of the battle allowed the surviving Alwihns to escape. By now, Jerad was only nine years old.

Jerad and his father left Illian and traveled the world for a while. They visited Saldaea, Shienar, Andor, Cairhien, finally to settle down in Far Madding. Jerad was now twenty, and had acquired an interest of herbs, and healing. He studied under a prominent healer in Far Madding, and learned the skills of the trade. Bidding farewell to his father, Jerad left to open into his own business in Aringill.

For several years Jerad successfully operated his Healer's shop, earning much prominence. Then something happened. Jerad began to get terrible headaches. And each time these headaches occurred....things would happen. A house would collapse, or a table catch on fire, or a chair would fly across the room. Jerad became desperate. Fearing the worst, he journeyed back to Far Madding in search of his old teacher.

His teacher, as it was revealed to him, was a wilder, a former Dedicated at the Tower of Will who failed his test for Asha'man. When he heard Jerad's symptoms, he immediately tested him for the inborn spark. Jerad had the spark inborn, and very strongly. The old Healer could think of nothing else to do, but begin to teach Jerad. He taught Jerad for three months, until the headaches went away. Then the old healer died of a wasting disease, and Jerad was left with only one option; to go to Tar Valon and train as an Asha'man.

Jerad has a great potential. His full strengths in the elements (when he reaches Asha'man will be:
Spirit: 90%
Fire: 87%
Air: 85%
Earth: 40%
Water: 15%
(To find Jerad's strength as a Soldier, divide these in half [round up]. To find his strengths as a Dedicated multiply these by 3/4 [round up])

The Talents of Jerad di'Saland Alwihn are strongly rooted in Spirit. They are:
Healing-Major
Illusion-Minor

Jerad also has a keen ability to make a flexible shield (one that will bend, but rarely break) when he shields someone from the Source.

Jerad usually thinks along logical lines, but does have a prickly nature, and a dangerous temper. He usually keeps it in check. Jerad despises the Whitecloaks, because they tortured his mother to death. Because of this he has sworn to destroy the Children of the Light, whatever the cost. This childhood experience has caused him to >harden, no longer feeling much compassion. Jerad also has a cruel side, but this he keeps in check most of the time. Jerad hopes to choose the Yellow Ajah if raised Asha'man, but the White and Green Ajahs still remain a possibility for him.

Soldier Jerad stands taller than most, only among the Aiel is he considered average height (approx 6'7"). He has a muscular, athlectic build and honey colored hair. His eyes are either a cold, arrogant gray, it is difficult to tell (they tend to shift). He has a slightly arrogant air about him, and a stubborn streak. Most of the time, however, he listens to reason.
