Soldier Jerad
cries
Jerad smiled, outwardly for once, at the sight of Rashadin freezing his braids off. He made quite an amusing sound, teeth chattering and all. But he took care to hide the smile. Quince suddenly flinched, pain apparently seizing him. The bond was doing him more harm than good at the moment. The trio of men sat outside the small room where the Amyrlin and Asha'man Wildfire were. Jerad still held the Source, which was odd. Usually the M'hael would have snapped at him to release. Apparently, the bond distracted him tha far from proper protocol.
With his saidin-enhanced hearing, Jerad was able to hear through the door. He heard several staggering breaths, followed by an ecouraging voice. All of the sudden, loud cries started sounding from the room. Had Jerad not released the Source at that instant, his ears might have been damaged by the volume of that shout. As abruptly as they started, the cries stopped, replaced by a small sound. Rashadin and Quince obviously didn't hear it, they still exchanged nervous looks. Jerad cleared his throat, drawing Quince out of his state of near nervous breakdown. "I do think," he began, the M'hael leaning forward eagerly, "that your first daughter has arrived."
