Tatiana shrugged, still staring at her tiny son engulfed in his father’s strong arms. Names weren’t all that important to her at the moment. This was; watching her husband, the man she loved with all of her heart, hold his newborn son and look at the tiny child with a mixture of emotions, the most prominent being love, pride, and awe.

She looked up at her husband with crystal tears gleaming in her amethyst eyes and sniffled. “They’re beautiful, aren’t they?” she whispered reverently. She touched a finger to her daughter’s palm and watched as the little fingers curled around her bigger one, catching it in a strong grasp. “They’re so perfect.”

She blinked away her tears and narrowed her eyes on her husband. “You’re hurt,” she said, a frown beginning to form. “Where’s that Soldier Jerad? When he comes to check the twins I want him to check you, too. Whatever it is that’s paining you needs to be fixed.”

The baby in her arms let out a fretful cry and Tanya soothed her with soft noises and slow movement of her arms. The blue-gray eyes closed and the little girl was soon fast asleep. Her brother, on the other hand, had a different idea entirely. He let out a loud scream and began to shout as if a hoard of trollocs had busted into the room.

Tanya frowned and reached for him, handing her husband their daughter once she had her son secure in her arms. She muttered to herself, not sure why the baby was making such a fuss. He was either tired, wet, or hungry. She mentally checked off the first two items, then muttered again.

Pulling down part of her bodice, she adjusted the baby and watched the door carefully. The last thing she wanted was for someone to barge into the room while she was in the midst of feeding her babe.

She flickered a look at her husband and found him staring at her. “What?” she asked, blinking.
