Game: Pocket Monsters Yellow: "Special Pikachuu Edition"
Platform: Game Boy
Nintendo of Japan release date: 12 September 1998
Nintendo (abroad) release date: 01 October 1999
Players: 1

Pika-Pikachuu! Pikachuu's starring in his very own Game Boy game! You start your quest, just as Satoshi did, with your very own Pikachuu! By placing Pikachuu in your party, he will follow you around. In addition, you can view Pikachuu's mood. His mood is dependent on how you have been treating him.

The Yellow version Special Pikachuu Edition has features all its own. Here are some differences from Green, Red and Blue versions:
**Yellow version is compatable with the Game Boy Printer, allowing you to print out pics from your Pokédex.
**New pics of Pocket Monsters found in Green, Red, and Blue versions.
**Pikachuu can evolve, but only after being traded to a compatable game. (Green, Red, Blue, or Yellow.)
**A new mini-game has been added, called "Surfing Pikachuu". If you have one, you can go to the building just below Fuchsia City to play. Your goal is to perform as many stunts as possible.
**Pokémon are located in different areas.
**Battle Team Rocket's teenage duo, Jessie and James--several times.
**All three beginning Pokémon can be found in this version: Bulbasaur, Charmander, and Squirtle.
**Strategies and levels for the Gym Leaders have changed.
**The Unknown Dungeon has been redone. It is easier to master than before.
**The compatability with a Game Link Cable allows players to battle in three new modes: Pika Cup, Poké Cup, and Petite Cup.

The games "Pokémon Yellow: *Special Pikachuu Edition*" and "Pocket Monsters Yellow"
