ConferenceRoom has been pre-configured with default settings, for fast, easy installation - we call it WebMaster "Quick Start." We offer Quick Start because most of our customers want to use their new ConferenceRoom software immediately. Of course, all of ConferenceRoom's many features and configuration options are available at any time for re-configuration. To take advantage of our (5)five minute Quick Start installation, follow the instructions below:
Run the ConferenceRoom installer (crinst16x.exe) and follow the installation instructions.
The first thing you will see will be the Winsock2 update
installer. If you are running Windows95 Operating System, you should
leave the option to upgrade checked. For Windows98 DO NOT
install it. For the customers using WindowsNT you will not see this
option from the ConferenceRoom installer
The second screen you will see, is the WARNING to notify you if you
are currently upgrading your ConferenceRoom software, to backup your
ConfRoom.conf file your ChanServ.db and your NickServ.db files. Please
Note that if you do not backup those files, your channels and nicknames
registration information as well as your key and server settings will be
over written by the default settings of the ConferenceRoom installer.
As a measure of precaution, you should backup your parameter files as
well.
The Third Step is the Destination folder. The ConferenceRoom Installer will, by default, make its default folder c:\Program Files\WebMaster15. If you wish to install the program on another drive, or another destination folder click on the Browse button. Remember that at any time throughout the installation you can click the cancel button to stop the installation of ConferenceRoom.
The next step is entering the registration information, the three (3) fields you see are for your name, your company name and your registration key. For example: Name: John Doe, Company: WebMaster Inc., Key 'TRIAL' If you are evaluating this software leave the key field as it is with the word TRIAL. Otherwise please enter your registration key.

Now we move on to the initial configuration panel, you may at any time modify the information you enter here. You will see five (5) fields the first one being Server Name: my.server.name examples of server names you can input here are the IP address like 999.999.999.999 for example or a resolved IP address such as irc.webmaster.com. The second field is the IRC Ports field the defaults are 7000, 6667-6669, you may modify these ports at a later time if you desire, however make sure you DO NOT include the web port in the IRC Port listing otherwise they will conflict. The IRC Port is what allows your users to connect to your server. Using clients such as mIRC, pIRCh, ircII and others. The next field is the Web Port the default is 8000. The two (2) other fields are the Operator Nickname and The Operator Password, the default's are Admin and password. If you should change them now please remember that NickNames and Passwords are case sensitive.
Important Notice: If you are running a proxy/wingate server, it is very important for you to make sure you map the ports in your security file of your proxy/wingate software, to allow connections on the ports you have selected.
Now you're almost ready to start your server. You will see a screen asking you if you want to run ConferenceRoom as a service (WindowsNT) and if you want to Start ConferenceRoom now. As soon as you will click on the ok, you will see the Crstatus screen. The Crstatus monitors your server's activity such as how many people are logged on the server and on the network, as well as how many channels are currently open on the server. If Services are running, ConferenceRoom, WebServer and the amount of CPU the server is using. The bottom part of the Crstatus lets you know what is running and what's not running. ConferenceRoom, Services and the WebServer. The Auto option if selected will start the program attached to it. At the very bottom of the Crstatus you see options called Administration, Chat and Stop Monitoring.
You have now installed and partly configured your ConferenceRoom Software. Congratulations!
If you selected the start ConferenceRoom button the server will start. In order to access the Administration options you must start WebServer.
