Mara's Torment is a dark electronic band based in Toronto formed by Rik Maclean in 1997. His first two releases Vanities and The Penny Collector (on limited edition cassette) received an excellent reaction and started a strong loyal fan base. The first CD by Mara's Torment entitled Dreams Like Mine (Jan 98). has received interest from all over the world, having received radio play throughout Canada, The States, Europe, and Australia. The next CD's released by Mara's Torment, Across for Show...(Sept 1998) and The Barrier of Skin (Oct 1999)continued this trend. Throughout 2000 Rik organized two compilations The Violet Collection and Every Living Creature released on mp3.

For Related Textures, Mara's Torment has included three news songs. One of which is a etherial/minimal cover of J Mundok's 'Bits' and a new vocal mix of 'Control' with Susan Morton of Chocolate Grinder on vocals.
