With a Nod Laura said, "Yes."
Looking at a piece of paper that was lying on top of the file that laid open, then looking up at them with a grin saying, "They're both girls."
Fenton jumped up from his chair wearing a huge grin shaking Hank's hand saying, "Thanks Doc."
With a grin he said, "You did all the work Fenton, not me."
Laura smiled and stood up saying, "Ok my men lets paint this town red, what do you say?"
With nods of agreement, they filed out of the office and headed to their car. Piling in, Frank and Joe sat in the back of the car, while their father behind the wheel drove them home.
For the rest of the afternoon, they made plans for a big shopping spree making a list for what they needed to get before the twins arrived.
That night the Hardys went to La Gande, for dinner and then to a show.
Over the next eight days, Frank and Joe went over the files concerning the case. For the case, Frank grew a goatee and lightened his hair to a light brown. Joe dyed his to a dark brown.
The day before they were due to leave for Maryland, Frank and his mom went into Bayport for some last minute things they needed for the trip.
Laura heard her name being called, "Why Laura Hardy, I hear that Congratulations are in order."
Turning she saw an older version of Callie Shaw, "Hello Mel and thanks." She saw Callie was lurking behind her mother and said, "Hello Callie."
Callie muttered, "Hello, Mrs. Hardy."
Frank walked over when Mel said, "Why Frank Hardy, where have you been hiding?"
Guessing that Callie didn't tell her family about the breakup, he said, "I've been busy Mrs. Shaw."
Shocked she asked, "To busy to see Callie?"
"Mom, Frank's working on another case." Callie told her in a bitter voice.
"Ahh that explains everything, well what is it this time?"
Seeing that Frank was uncomfortable about the topic, Laura jumped in saying, "You know we can't discuss cases Mel. I hate to cut this short but we really have to go."
Somewhat disappointed Mel nodded saying, "Sure it was nice to catch up. Maybe when you have time we can get together and gossip, and Frank when you find some free time pop over for dinner one night."
Frank not sure what to say, told her, "Uh, sure Mrs. Shaw."
Laura smiled at her and said, "We'll do that Mel. Call me some time, say in a week or two?"
"Sure will, till then bye."
Laura and Frank walked off. Once out of sight, they stopped in front of Starbucks.
Laura said, "Come on let's get a drink." Entering into the shop they ordered their drinks.
Grabbing a table, they placed their packages on the floor.
Once sitting, Frank said, "Thanks mom."
"You're welcome, Boy I forgot how chatting she can be." The waitress came over and placed their drinks in front of them, "Thanks." Taking a sip of her coffee she sighed,
"Ahh, this is great coffee."
Picking up his hot chocolate with Marshmallows floating on top, he picked up his teaspoon. He scooped out a pink melted marshmallow raising it to his mouth he noticed that his mom was watching him, "What?" He asked her.
"Your father does the same thing with his marshmallows."
Stunned Frank asked, "He does?"
"That surprises you?"
"Yeah, I've never seen dad drink hot chocolate with marshmallows."
Laura told him, "That's because he wants to appear macho in front of you boys, but when you're not around believe me he piles them in."
With a shake of his head he said, "That sounds like dad, I always wondered why they disappeared so fast, now I know."
Finishing off their drinks, Frank stood up and threw some money onto the table picking up the packages from the floor he followed his mom to the car. Packing the boot with the packages they had bought, Frank walked over to the passenger's side of the car once unlocked he hopped in and clicked his seatbelt home.
An half hour later, they pulled into the drive. Hopping out of the car and towards the boot Laura called out, "We're home. Help's needed out here."
Joe came out with a sandy-headed Jake Wayne. He was their father's private pilot. He agreed to stay at their house while they were away. It gave the builders time to repair the damage that was done to his place when it caught fire, Jake said, "Did you buy all the shops out Laura?"
With a grin she told him, "Do you think Frank would let me? If I were going on a shopping spree, Frank would be the last person I'd take with me. He's like his dad, Joe would be the one to come, sorry Frank dear but it's the truth."
"Ain't that the truth." Frank said.
"Joe, where is your father?" Laura asked as she looked about.
"In the sitting room watching the game."
"Oh he is, is he?" With that she marched into the house.
"Uhoh, I wouldn't want to be dad right now." Frank muttered.
Carrying two bags into the kitchen, Frank hid his smile as his father who was mumbling under his breath, "It's come to this? I have a rare day off and I can't even watch the game on TV"
"Oh hush up dear it's not going to kill you."
Later that night they decided to have takeout for dinner, and an early night so they could start out early the next morning.
