Baluchistan

Ziarat: The place where the founder of the nation spent his last days

West of the Indus Plains, or Southwest of Pakistan, the largest province: Baluchistan. The province is about 343,000 square kilometers in size, and consists of deserts, valleys, and hills. In winter, the temprature falls to as low as chilly -30 degrees Celcius while summers are mild of about 18 to 30 degrees Celcius. The province has been influenced by the civilizations residing in Indus and Dir valleys, and later by the Indus River Valley civilization.
Quetta, the capital of Baluchistan, is the famous town of Ziarat, a place where Quaid-e-Azam, the founder of the nation, spent his  last days. Juniper forest, one of its kind in the world, are located in Baluchistan. Few Juniper trees have ages in excess of thousand years. Snow in the winters cap the forest, providing a breathtaking scenic view. Indeed, Balochistan is a province of contrasts. It has some of the bleakest landscape in the country with grim, jagged mountains, barren and arid land where the sparse greenery shrivels and wilts, but hidden away are some stunningly beautiful places.
