Freeform Sessions:

Having met during high school in 1994, guitarists Armando Perez and Juan Lugo began a trio after meeting drummer Farid Ullah to form Totwall. With the addition of bassist extrodinare Billy Kirst, the infamous Kopouts were born and began rooting to the "DIY" rude vibe. After the scholastic absence of Kirst, the group decided to continue as a trio and later recorded "Audible Damnation" in early 1998 with Matt Parker at Conspiracy Sound Studios in Chicago. Building a following, the group expanded musically and mixed all their influences into a strong distinct style representing no rules or guidelines, ultimately giving rise to the "freeform" mentality. With the collaboration of local precussionist Stefan B., Djs Greg Dalphond, a.k.a. Dj Geewa and long time friend Marco Morales, a.k.a. Moreorless, the Sessions ascended successfully playing shows with trip-hop family Harlowe at the Pontiac Cafe. Keeping the music alive, Freeform Sessions became a prominent force when the Nervous Center hosted Erbis Rhombus, a collective of the intuitive efforts of the musicians, emcees, poets, artists, and performers associated with the emerging Chicago arts culture.
