Going to the Gulf was the most rewarding thing I've gotten to do so far.  I was so thankful for the chance to give a little back to the guys and gals over there defending our country.  There's not much that can top that feeling.

That's the biggest problem existing in this country!  People are always mixing up the word free and freedom.  Free is something you get for nothin.'  Freedom is a responsibility.  We think freedom means do nothing, don't be responsible for your actions....  I think its time for adult Americans to be responsible for themselves, to take back the responsibility of being a free nation.

Plenty of people still got a lot of pride in what they do -- I meet 'em every day.  I think we're led to think that the majority is an unsatisfied worker who wishes he's been a lawyer, and that's hogwash.  A great American takes pride in what he does, no matter what it is.

The fans are the end result of what we do.  Sometimes I think we forget that those are the folks that mean it in this game.  There's plenty of evidence to be found that you can have all the #1 records in the world, but if you really ain't touchin' them, you don't come home with gold records and platinum records.  I'm very proud that we've only had one #1 record, but we've sold two and one half million!

POSITIVE ASPECTS OF WEIGHT TRAINING

I think my weight-training proved to me more than anything that I can do anything in life if I really put my mind to it. I saw me bring myself from 137 pounds to 175 pounds over a seven-year period. That alone said to me that all you have to do is really stick with something, and you can accomplish anything you want. It's brought me great self-esteem because I know I did it. I changed me.

I have a high energy show so I wear clothes that fit that format. I always wear my jeans and a T-shirt, and I usually wear a jacket that looks like something my hero Hank Sr. might have worn -- but with an updated look.

I think my hair is high maintenance. Of course, I think anything more than a flat top is high maintenance!

BACK-UP CAREER PLAN

One of my dreams is to have a stunt plane again, 'cause I enjoy that.  That's how I was raised.  When I was in high school, me and my Dad owned a stunt plane so that's all I did in the afternoons after school, just practice acrobatics.  I miss that thrill.  Maybe one of these days I can build me something to fly.

BOB HOPE AND SAUDI

I was honored earlier this year when Bob Hope invited me to Saudi Arabia to entertain the troops.  Being in that part of the world made me realize what an honor it is to be an American.  This country is known as a friend to justice and human rights.  That's a good reason to be proud.
