Arizona Youth Yearly Planning Meeting January 31, 2002, 7:00 p.m.
Location: Tucson Church Youth Leaders in attendance: Evangelist Steinhilper, Chet Tippens Youth in attendance: Marcus Freudenberg, Elizabeth Peterson, Hanna Peterson, Michael Roberts Parents in Attendance: Ray Freudenberg, Susan Peterson Opening prayer, welcome & opening comments
  • Youth activities are for the purposes of Christian fellowship.
  • Participation in all activities is encouraged.
  • Encouraged youth to provide feedback, suggestions.
Youth service, youth activities & trips
  • Assurances to the young people and Evangelist Steinhilper that scheduled events will be communicated better in the future.
  • Community service activities will become a larger part of youth activities.
  • Participation in bigger trips will be contingent upon local participation.
  • Youth activity for February will be cabin trip on Mt. Lemon
  • Possible Florida trip in June. Still waiting for confirmation.
  • March activity planning/research is underway for community service activity.
  • Indicated that community service/charity and fundraising could be shared between Phoenix and Tucson. Encourage youth to research and provide feedback.
Personal conduct
  • No drugs, alcohol or contraband. Evangelist Steinhilper indicated that even cigarettes, for those under eighteen years old, should be treated in the same fashion. Sister Peterson voiced her concern regarding alcohol in that the same rules should apply to youth leaders and adult young people as well. The belief that all should set the appropriate example at official youth activities.
  • Since we represent the church, dress appropriately - no offensive logos, etc.
  • Reach out to those that are new, shy. Show kindness. Avoid cliques and share in fellowship with youth from other areas when given the opportunity.
  • A Mission Statement and Youth Guide will be drafted.
  • Authorization and emergency information sheets were distributed. Insurance information and/or insurance cards are needed.
