Dr. Russell Morey is currently a Professor of Supply Chain Management in the Department of Marketing and Finance at Western Illinois University. He received his Ph.D. from the University of Nebraska in 1973, his C.P.M. in 1976, and has been in higher education since 1966. He developed and implemented the Operations/Purchasing program at Western in 1974 and facilitated the development of a Supply Chain Management Program in 1997. He has published numerous articles, cases, and professional papers as well as being the contributing author of an Introduction To Management textbook. Dr. Morey has been listed in numerous Who’s Who publications, the most recent being Who’s Who Among America’s Teachers - 1998, and has received over 100 awards and certificates of achievement for his contributions to education and the purchasing profession. He was selected as the Outstanding Teacher in the College of Business and has received the Presidential Merit Award from Western Illinois University. He also received the Professional Advancement Award from Western Illinois University and the Outstanding Service Award in the College of Business and Technology in 1999. Dr. Morey has been very active in the professional certification (C.P.M./A.P.P.) program, having been one of the original presenters of the first C.P.M. Review Course sponsored by NAPM in 1977. He served on the Validation and Test Writing Committees for the Educational Testing Service, was the Pro-D Chairperson for Districts III and X, and National Vice-Chairperson of Pro-D for the National Association of Purchasing Management. He was selected as the Pro-D Person of the Year by District X during 1985-86 and received the Henry L. Brueggeman Award from District X in 1990. Dr. Morey also served on the National Academic Planning Committee for NAPM from 1990-1994. He also received the Wendell Freed Service Award from NAPM – Twin Cities in May 2000.
