General/Summary: Brilliant one of the best games I have played and one of the very few games tht lives up to its hype. Before buying Metroid I had always complained about gamecube being rubbish and the worst console. I own all three major consoles and play the gamecube the least even though I have the most games for it (share it wiv my sis and she buys soem gamess too) but after playing Metroid I can now safely say that the cube has been saved. With Zelda just around the corner, I live in UK so it ain't out till May!!, and several other good cube games surfacing such as super maz sunshine and maz party 4 the cube is now well worth its 100 pound asking price.
Gameplay: About the game itself its controls are really simple and easy to use u will be used to them after half an hour. the game is slow paced yet fast paced!! You begin with all of your suit and special stuff intact you can go in a morph ball and you can fire rockets yet after the first level you lose it all and slowly gain the items back thru the game as well as collecting special artifacts. The suit thing is really clever as you keep seeing little doors or holes in the early levels which you can't eneter and so have to wait until later in the game to come back to them, this gives a lot of depth and lifespan to the game, you also scan stuff so that the world you are in comes together and you can undersatnd whats going on, this is great as it allows you to find enemies weaknesses without consulting a guide or dying 10 times before working it out it is annoying when fighting a major boss however that you have to stop and sacn it for 10 seconds to find its weakness whcih leaves you vunerable to attack. The enemies are very intelligent such as in the snowy level there are these creatures which only their back is vunreable yet they defend there back really well so each battle with one of them takes around 3 minutes!! Or it could just be cos I'm crap and it should only take 20 seconds!!! The game is huge and the atmosphere is really good.
Graphics: AMAZING!! Far better than most X box games I have, you should see the kinds of things that happen you get these exploding little creatures and they explode all over your visor so you have goo all over it and you can't see for 30 seconds. You go around in a visor giving a cylindrical effect and its really realistic.
Sound: Very good.
Overall the best gamecube game so far, this is way better than the totally overrated Halo (no matter how much I play it I just don't like it!) and isd worth the cost of a gamecube, if you were like me and had heard it was a good game but thought it looked a bit boring BUY IT Anyway I did and I didn't regret it BRILLIANT!!
